No it won't. Probably a really good long term decision, considering money, schedule, recruiting, available coaches, and being fair to staff and players.
I believe beginning with the bowl game, we are going to see a return to a passing bias team, maybe 60/40. The reason being able to place more responsibility on receivers. He wanted to open it up, but couldn't with young receivers and inconsistent quarterbacking. Every time he tried he got burned, he will find a consistent qb from the 4 . Gunslinger attitude returns, nothing to lose, everything to gain now.
OC will help, loss of other coach won't hurt so much.

I agree. Keeping Holgorsen was WVU's only choice. I'm as disappointed as any WVU fan over this past season. The hard part is winning the K State game plus a bowl game would have gone a long way to boosting confidence in Holgorsen. When you break down WVU'S season it was close to winning 9 regular season games. Coaching mistakes cost WVU against K State and turnovers cost WVU against Oklahoma State. You get those 2 wins and WVU is probably talking contract extension and not coach replacement. I'm highly confident in Gibson to produce a good defense every year. If Dana can get the same production from the offense WVU can be successful. There are no more excuses now for Dana. I'm perfectly fine with giving him another year to get this fixed. And for the record 9 win seasons in the Big12 will keep me happy. Which is what WVU was on the verge of doing this season.

I'm fine with giving Dana another year to get things corrected. It would have been a terrible financial decisions to fire Dana this season. I'm willing to bet Lyons is like myself, perfectly fine with 9 win seasons in the Big12. WVU was inches away from that this year. Gibson and staff are doing a marvelous job. If Dana and the offensive staff can match that level of production then WVU will be fine. I want Dana to succeed but I want WVU to succeed more. If Dana is the guy to do it great if not find someone who can.

i honestly think we have a better chance to win the lottery than dana has to turn it around next year and keep his job. if he does great. if not, like i said, one more year is not a big deal

OK...................I have listened to the fans and have decided to give Holgs another year to get things right. But, let me tell you that he better get things right and he better make it quick! I can't keep this up forever. Can I?
