On basketball attendance, I've often thought the PRT should have a Coliseum station

Yes, I know it would be pricey, but it seems a shame that there is not a spur that would take folks (especially students) there. After all, the tracks come very close to the parking lot as it stands now. It would ease congestion and get more fans to the game.

Since the basketball program is averaging less than 65% full for games in recent seasons...including a yawning 9,936 for Kansas State this week...maybe a PRT stop extending all over the state with an at the gate drop off would help. I do realize that there is a whole catalog of excuses but lots and lots of blue seats as a rule. Shame of it is: WVU has one of the best all time coaches in Huggs and a team that IMO is truly special. Sports networks on cable and streaming online is killing attendance I believe. Happening in football too...all over the NCAA actually.

And the KSU attendance was 71% capacity. 2015's average attendance was 73% capacity and the 6th highest in program history

But the Coliseum does need seat reduction.... Down to about 12,000

I always thought a subway would be a good idea if a way could be found to pay for it. There is no room to build roads without knocking down half the town, lots of coal miners out there who could bring underground skills to the task.

As he should...... the KSU game sold over 13,000 tickets (including the 3,500 student allotment) and less than 10k showed.

Snow was the cause...... and I get that, for everyone but students.....

Good points all, but I still think it's a good idea.

Considering the Big 12 $$ coming in, putting a million bucks toward improving infrastructure, reducing traffic, and increasing basketball attendance by making transportation just a little easier for fans is a good deal.

No!! Please no! That infrastructure is ugly enough as it is and deteriorating at a pace that's almost impossible to keep up with. Adding to a '70's conveyance would be a total waste of $.

Maybe we should provide limo service from their homes to the front door, then golf cart them to the concourse, then install an escalator to their seats. The problem is not the program, it's the students. Then landscape of things is changing and it is not good for sports revenue. You could double the athletic fee and I expect the students will complain, but it will not be an encouragement to them attending games. They would rather sit at home on their fat a$$es squinting at their cell phone screen looking Cinda Bell's cute photo of her doggie dressed up in a Halloween costume on Facebook. They could care less about WVU football or basketball. Attending a game is just a bucket list item to be checked off as part of their college experience. Most of them won't even go hiking, ride a bike, go camping, white water rafting, skiing, or any other kind of activity that requires even one ounce of physical effort and required them to go off line for even one second.

The result will be that sports revenue is headed toward a fast shift downward, which means that those of us who do care will suffer. Agree or disagree, but get ready, it's comin.
