Oklahoma the new Penn State pn our schedule

No, we will have a much better QB next year.

I'm sure you will find a way to win another OU game. I have vivid memories of your 82 and 07 wins and don't ever want to feel that way again :).

I thought last night would have been a much closer game and it could have been had your guys not lost their composure. This is just me, but I think you lost the game before the game ever got started. You have a better team than you showed in the first half. It was all the penalties and turn overs that destroyed your chance at a win. I'm sure you recognize that.

I posted here that I thought we might eek out a 7 point win. I never expected to be ahead 41 - 7 in the 3rd quarter. Never thought we would be able to put up 56 on your defense.

I also was worried about the game night conditions. Was also surprised that we handled the conditions as well as we did. I thought we would be able to run the ball on your defense, but not like we did.

Glad we won. But, WVU will eventually break through. I like your HC and DC ... think they are good coaches.

This conference needs every team to step up and be better. I'm not one to hope our competition doesn't get better. Competition is what drives us. OU needs Texas to be competitive for us to be at our best. The better the conference is the better OU and WVU will have to be to compete.

I'd bet he is nowhere as advertised. Even if his high performance was not the result of doping, he's still been away from the game for over a year, isn't getting live reps in the system, and very well may be learning a new system under a new staff that he didn't sign on to play under. I'm sticking with OU owning us for the forseeable future because they make sure they play 5-star efforts against us and we can never play beyond 2.5-stars.

If you were to look at history, OU has been much better than Penn State has ever been.

Penn State ranked 7th all time wins 860-383-43
OU ranked 8th all time wins 858-323-53

I think he is referring to the 48-9-2 lead that PSU has over WVU. Plus the 28 straight win streak during that period. Not to forget from 1956 to 1996 34-2-1 record.

Wins don't tell the whole story. Ou has at least 7 national titles and Penn State has two. The defense rests. hell, PS got a lot of their wins against inferior teams. OU has had Nebraska, texas on its'schedule every year for a long time. {PS had us and Pitt

We outgained them by 100 yards. Gave them the ball with a short field after their first possession, and gave up 7 points on a stupid pass that led to an Interception.

Had we played focused in the first half, if we hadn't turned the ball over like mad, that game would have gone down to the wire.

They have ZERO defense, and the second someone stops their counter, they stop their running game.

OSU will beat them.

Easier said than done lol. Care to put some cash behind that prediction? Lol
Houston , the Buckeyes and TTU figured that out early. Funny how we can not. They have one WR who is worth a shit. Kansas shut him down, and but for one frickin brain dead moment again by our Safety. We shut him down. Bottom line here is the 3-3-5 is not the run stopper we need to use it means
3 runs
3 TDs
In 5 minutes

Honestly although your RB was a stud, I've never been impressed by Howard. I think he is average at best even in favorable conditions. Ou while terrible on D does have probably 6 future NFL guys on offense. Perine, Westbrook, left tackle Brown, hopefully Mayfield gets a shot, Mixon and Andrews at te. Stopping Ou is easier said than done. The only thing that stopped our passing attack was the weather.

Does this mean Bob Stoops is covering for his brother as the pedophile child rapist DC? And that David Boren is playing the role of Graham Spanier?
Who is Mike McQueery? Is it that Heisman QB from 2000? I thought he was some where's else. Well now we know why?

To quote the good Aaron Rogers?
R-E-L-A-X!

Bottom line is WVU played a horrible game. Made mistakes on top of mistakes with turnovers, and Oklahoma had a huge edge at QB. Props to them and best of luck the rest of their way.

WVU had a decent shot but way way way too many mistakes early!

I have been a fan of OU since barry roamed the sidelines, Nebraska before that but your defense is horrible. We were not ready for that game and it's a testimony to OU that this ws their 3rd "big" game of the year. We let the night get to us with all the mistakes and penalties. I believe that was the first time OU had both Perine and Mixon healthy. Howard isn't a great QB and everybody knows that. He's tough but we just made too many mistakes. The weather affected us more than it did you. We still gashed you for 300 yds rushing and if Crawford had great speed, he would have put into the endzone twice. There for awhile, I thought Tavon Austin had suited up. OU's defense will not get the job done if they get in the playoffs. My guess, they will not even if they beat OSU. Their D is too porous.

We got doubled up by a team that got its skull kicked in by a team that lost to Penn State, too. We'll probably lose at least 2-3 more times in a row depending on coaching changes. I'm already writing off ever winning in Norman and Mountaineer Field is their stadium too, because they play better in it than we ever have.

Bingo! Penn St is no Oklahoma. They act like they are a top 10 program but how many times have they finished top 10 in the last 15-20 years. Oklahoma is a legit top 10 program. Penn St is a blowhard top 10 program. If WVU were playing Penn St the last 15 years they would have won at least 10 of the 15 games.

[didn't Penn State win a couple on national championships during those decades of losing? Not sure your rebuttal is legit.

Penn St is one of the true blowhard programs in the country. Get out of PA and most fans recognize that Penn St has done very little over the last 20-25 years in final polls. Not sure how many top 5 rankings in the last 20 years but can't be many. How many playoff appearances in Playoff era? How many appearances in BCS Championship Game? Heck how many times in last 20 years has PSU finished in top 10 final ranking? I guess PSU has been ranked in the top 20 over half of the time over the last 20 years. I'm thinking PSU has been rated in the top 20 final poll like 10-12 times right over the last 20 years? I'm confused by any argument that supports PSU as a top 10 program. But hey I get the "stay true to your school' we're the best gig.

Any PSU guys help with my memory. Thanks in advance. If not I'll look it up tonight.

Total wins are deceiving in some ways. Especially back in the day when Penn St got fat on crap Northeastern football teams. Plus history is cool but "what have you done for me lately" is always the true test. PSU is again getting fat on a bunch of bad teams. I mean the entire fan based got worked up playing and trashing Maryland, Indiana and Rutgers. Now the same crowd is pumping up the masses for a 3-8 Michigan St team like they are playing Oklahoma. Penn St is a place where a good coach can win big that's for sure. But get ranked in the top 5-10 final polls for 2 or 3 years before you totally forget the last 15-20 years.

Here's the cool thing. Penn St has a chance to prove they are "the" Eastern program that is the standard of excellence over the next few years. They can pound Pitt and WVU over these next few years and establish how great some people think they are. Sitting at 0-1 has to sting for sure. Jump on the Main Board and put a thread up saying PSU is a top 10 program in the entire country and ask for thoughts from non PSU members. LOL!!! That would be hilarious.

Lol steeleer

LOL yourself....have you even seen Grier play before? He's had a full season to acclimate to our offense. He's not some dud who got beat out at UF. He led them to a 6-0 start before he screwed up on a OTC supplement.

Because that's very Oklahoma state-like. Every year they lose its " oh yea wait until next year, we will show you" it's VERY easy to make predictions that are a year away. The game is in Norman, most of our team should be back and Ou seems to almost always have the talent edge top to bottom.

i think our odds will improve immensely ( beating Oklahoma ) when we have better football players, regardless of who the coach is.

You are right. 6-5 central Michigan beat them as did Baylor but Ou might as well not even show up in Norman. Lol. Do you even think before you post?

Let's wager if you are so confident. We can exchange info in email. Loser donates 100 dollars to charity. Sound good?

Optimistic yet not out of reason. I like our 2018 chances at home much better.

2nd year for Grier and Mayfield will be gone.

Mayfield will be gone but we have the #1 rated run/pass QB....5 stars...redshirting this year. He will be ready to go in 2018. So OU also has QB talent in the wings. We will also have two 4 star QBs on the roster besides the 5 star QB. So far we have 15 4 star commits for 2017. We welcome you to Norman next year but we will be loaded next year also.
