Some think all this money is going to even things out (i.e. WVU getting a bigger share once full Big 12 portion of revenue starts rolling in), but that is only part of the story. As money becomes more and more important, its going to be harder and harder for mid-tier schools to compete. Example, our facilities are way behind and even w/ the additional money we are only going to be able to improve them to mid-tier Big 12 football facilities. Other schools are using the increase in money we see PLUS additional revenue streams to take this stuff to a new lever that will be difficult to compete w/.

I know its only one year, but this year's Final 4 is Duke, UK, Michigan St and Wisconsin. Duke and UK are the top two programs in basketball. Michigan St and Wisconsin are top 10 at least in the last 10 years.

This year's football final 4 is Alabama, Oregon, Florida St, and Ohio St. Enough said. Oregon is now a top 5-10 program year in and year out and the others are all-time programs.

I would hope that smaller mid-tier schools can still have historic years and crash the big money party once in awhile, but its going to become much harder the way things are going. Unfortunately for WV, Big Business is usually not a good thing.
