GAME THREAD Official Game Thread -- WVU vs Youngstown St

The Offensive Genius seems to have the team fired up, on top of its game and ready to play today. ... Oh, wait. We're the team in blue and gold. Never mind.

Upset alert.

If the Offensive Genius wants to keep his job, then he can't afford to have his team ill-prepared and uninspired.

4th and 2 coming out of a timeout and a RB gets a false start.

Hahahahahahaha.

Yep, this team is prepared.

It's time to face the fact, Youngstown is a better team than we are......not saying we will lose, but they are well coached and have skill players that make plays all over the field.....

This could be going better.

Polini is handing Dana his ass on a plate.

Thus far, the game has went like this:

Offensive = Advantage YSU
Defense = Advantage YSU
OL play = YSU
DL play = YSU
Secondary = YSU (their WR's are open every play)
Talent = YSU

Facts are facts.....

Losing this game should constitute an immediate pink slip. I would be amazed if Dana would be able to debate the decision.

No shot they would fire him during the season. But....a loss today would equate to a pink slip at the end of the season. That is agreed.

I still think we find a way to win, but for all those people worrying about rankings and all that after last week....hopefully they are waking up now and back to reality. Missouri STINKS. Our offensive approach is as boring as it's ever been....including the Mullen years.....

I've been craving a fried bologna sandwich for some reason(yes I know what body parts it's made of)..wish I could get a WV tomato.

Some people didnt believe me when I said we would have trouble. How many times do we have to see it before the average viewer understands. The top of FCS is NO JOKE, there is a good chance YSU is a better team than Missouri, and to top it off this game is sandwiched between Missouri and BYU making it a classic trap game. I think we will win, but we should not panic because we are struggling. Conference champs have had their hearts stopped by FCS teams before, if we struggle its not a death knell.

You do realize that this team was 5-6 last year.......don't you?

They also hired a legitimate coach and are currently ranked 20th in the FCS poll. They're one of the top programs year over year in FCS, are they not allowed to improve over a down year by their standards?

So why didn't he call a timeout with 12 seconds left???? He had 2 timeouts......he's not a great coach.....and keep saying "Youngstown's a good team"......they were 5-6 last year.....I repeat....they were 5-6 last year.....

Well, maybe we should follow their lead and hire a "legitimate" coach? Cause we are tied with a 5-6 FCS team at the half......and until they prove how good they are this year, they are still a 5-6 team to me.....

.and until they prove how good they are this year, they are still a 5-6 team to me.....

Thats the most ridiculous statement of all time. They could very well suck, but to act like you know how good or bad they are because they went 5-6 last year is ludicrous.

Clemson was up 13-10 against Troy heading into the 4th

Georgia beat Nicholls 26-24

Tennessee needed overtime vs. Appy State

Miss State lost to South Alabama last week

Oklahoma State just lost to Central Michigan

Bottom line - RESPECT YOUR OPPONENT

common knowledge that, in terms of success, nothing in cfb matters more than the head coach. while true in most college sports, cfb is the epitome. look at coaching changes and the results in louisville over the last decade, if you aren't familiar with this factoid

When Lyons is sitting in his seat at halftime and wondering if the Offensive Genius should ever coach another game at WVU, he should have an old Rolling Stones song bouncing through his head ...

I told you once and I told you twice
But you never listen to my advice
You don't try very hard to please me
With what you know it should be easy
Well, this could be the last time
This could be the last time
Maybe the last time
I don't know, oh no, oh no

Well I told you once and I told you twice
That someone will have to pay the price

Well this could be the last time
This could be the last time
Maybe the last time

got me thinking(not always the best idea for me to have an idea)..the only coaches I can recall who were fired after a 9 win season are L Coker, B Pelini, and B Stewart..Pelini went 9-4,10-4,10-4,9-4,10-4,9-4,9-3(fired before the bowl game)
