As long as Dana Calls the Plays, Spavital is just a QB coach with a fancy title. Was hoping play calling would be turned over to someone else. Oh Dumb Me! Most colleges OC is the most important coaching position on the staff next to DC. Nothing changes when it remains the same. (This is only one man's opinion, or is it?)

The more people on staff that Holgs meshes with the better. We now have a coach to keep eyes on backfield, one to watch the OL play and one to watch the DB play. In days with Dawson, we always had that one series that was terrible. Not last year and expect none next year. JMO.

So we had NO bad series last season with DH calling the plays? Wow...didn't know that.:wink: Must have been another Mountaineer team I was watching...perhaps Appy State? Dunno.

I was referring to that one series that made absolutely no sense. Yes, we piled up numbers on bad teams but you are supposed to do that. Under Dawson as OC, we struggled against bad teams. Bowl game against scUM? No answer there. We played horrible.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dana hands over play calling to Spavital.

Let's Dana focus on being a head coach instead of being a HC/OC

Do you think TCU, HC Paterson allows somebody else to call the defense? No, he does it himself.
