--There were probably around 75 campers today, the bulk of which were defensive backs, wide receivers and some very talented linebackers, tight ends and running backs.
--The thing that impresses me every single time I see Tallahassee (Fla.) Chiles quarterback Garrett Green is how the ball zips off his hands and rotates. He throws a good looking, catchable ball that gets out quickly and accurately to wide receivers. He had some really impressive throws again today and you have to like a quarterback that isn't afraid to continue to compete. This was his second camp at West Virginia this summer since he committed.
--Bay City (Mi.) Central wide receiver Devell Washington is just a big, physical wide receiver that can run well. There's a lot to like about him every time I see him.
--Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes safety Buddy Mack absolutely looks the part at safety as he has length and isn't afraid to get physical either. He appeared bothered by what looked to be a hamstring which hurt him at times and at the end he was on the sideline, but I don't think he hurt himself at all by coming out and competing. I think he's a good looking prospect.
--Orlando (Fla.) Orlando Christian Prep safety Barry Wagner didn't appear as if he was going to camp when he first arrived but he later changed his mind and elected to go through drill work. He held his own in the one-on-ones and has great size for a safety. That could be one that will be interesting to watch moving forward after he camped.
--East Orange (N.J.) athlete Nasir Montgomery plays with a physical element to his game and he isn't afraid to come up and challenge pass catchers. He is a safety with very good size at this stage and while I missed his attempts at the 40, would be interested to see what he tested.
--Tampa (Fla.) Calvary Christian cornerback Shelton Quarles, Jr. is a physical cornerback that has a frame that will remind you of a safety. He ran well during the event and was in good position during the one-on-ones although his straight line speed doesn't seem to be as fast as some others.
--Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern running back Jordon Simmons is an explosive back that has nice feet. Liked how he caught the ball as well and he is smooth as both a runner and a pass catcher. I didn't think he was going to camp initially so was pleasantly surprised that he did.
--Ocala (Fla.) West Port linebacker Quitman Kincaid had his camp cut short due to what appeared to be an injury but he looks much more like a linebacker than he does a safety. He didn't have the best time in the 40, clocked around 4.87 but in what drill work I did observe he seemed to be able to handle himself laterally in short bursts.
--It's easy to see why Perry (Oh.) 2021 running back Jaylen Anderson is so highly thought of as he was impressive throughout the camp. He's built like a bowling ball but has great explosion and quickness as well. He impressed me with his work catching the ball as well.
--It's hard to believe that Pulaski County (Ky.) 2021 athlete Tristan Cox is an underclassmen because he was the biggest linebacker in attendance. Despite his size, he ran well in the one-on-ones and displayed the ability to play in space. He is one that I firmly believe will end up with quite a bit more offers as the process proceeds.
--I thought Las Vegas (Nev.) Desert Pines 2021 wide receiver Michael Jackson was very impressive today and consistently ran good routes and was able to get open. Didn't know what to expect coming into today but I thought he performed very well.
--I didn't get to watch a lot of Greenville (S.C.) athlete Jalen Tate but he did compete although I did see one player put on a very good move on him during the one-on-ones. He has length but is a little skinny right now, but he has obvious interest in the Mountaineers.
--Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Socastee 2021 athlete JJ Jones is a big, long wide receiver that runs well and is able to create space down the field. He had some nice catches during the event but has the frame that he could be a very interesting prospect moving forward.
--I also liked what I saw from Eerie (Pa.) Mercyhurst Prep 2021 athlete Steve Smith, who was clocked with a fast 40 and played both ways at times during the event.
--Middle Village (N.Y.) Christ the King 2021 quarterback Noah Bodden is a big quarterback that flashed a nice arm during the course of the event. I think after seeing all these 2021 quarterbacks I need to make a list in the future, but he was accurate for the most part and released a catchable ball to wide receivers.
--Elyria (Oh.) Elyria Catholic offensive lineman Branson Taylor didn't camp today but is a massive offensive line prospect. He absolutely looks the part and spent a lot of time chatting it up with the coaches while he was field level before heading out to take a tour.
--St. Louis (Mo.) DeSmet outside linebacker Lanell Carr didn't camp today but I have no question in my mind that he is going to have little trouble growing into a defensive lineman. He looked to be a legit 245-pounds and looks like he's added 20+ since the last pictures on the network were taken.
--Others that were in attendance were Pickerington (Oh.) Pickerington North wide receiver Chris Scott, Mansfield (Oh.) Senior tight end Clay Caudill, Mena (Ar.) Senior 2021 tight end Mason Brotherton, Akron (Oh.) St. Vincent-St. Mary's athlete Terrance Keyes, New Milford (N.J.) tight end Tyler Picnic and more.
