NY Times... alcohol/beer at college FB games... WVU featured...

In a highly controlled environment like a football stadium where access is limited by things like ticketing or wrist bands and ID checks I would see nothing but upside. The ouside environmental issues like pre-game tailgating and/or showing up to the game already drunk are the impact issues that demand change.

Deny stadium access to an already drunk fan or deny him more beer an you will find out what your refreshment policy is made of. Not sure if this has happened at MP/MF, but it should.

So far as I can see the beer/wine availability has helped ease the number of incidents in stadium...far fewer getting tossed out imo....perhaps the 'no pass out' policy also helps in this regard...

I have a couple beer at the tailgate and there's no temptation to plow a bunch more back close to game time knowing I can purchase 1 or 2 more during the game (admittedly at inflated prices)...
Personally I'm happy to see the Yeungling served now alongside the Bud and Miller brands...now just need another craft brew booth up at the north end closer to my section, they have some really tasty brews on tap...
