Impending dissolution of the ACC.
Other than those going to the B1G or SEC, I believe WVU stands to gain more than any other school by the demise of the ACC.
1) WVU will regain at least 2 and perhaps 3 of our former rivals/opponents back on the schedule. Fan travel becomes much easier and BB lessens the competitive hardship of BB travel as a result.
2) We gain the cathartic effect of seeing that group of schools that tried TO KILL WVU’s athletic programs, die. Sure UNC and UVA will flourish, but others may not make the cut in a new P3 era.
Especially gratifying will be any the pain felt by Fredo. Would love to see BC become even more irrelevant than they are.
3) Rivalries and their VALUE return to WVU. WVU may very well be playing Pitt and Virginia Tech each year as Big 12 conference foes.
The attention those two games would draw regionally and nationally, increase WVU’s profile and related value. As an outlier in the Big 12, we have lost this.
Valuations of programs are always including
“marquee matchups”. Remember the play Pitt and WVU has gotten recently?
Anyway - this thread is for the celebration of the death of those arrogant %*#*suckers and I for one am going to enjoy this.
