HC Neal Dud and Co., have done a poor job developing players in the secondary
and have done poorly in retaining others there as well.

Traditionally, Nehlen, Rodriguez, Stewart and Holgorsen had guys that got better as they aged in years and class.
Neal's have not.

At cornerback, we are relying on Garnett Hollis who couldn't cover Penn State while at Northwestern and a 3 transfers from schools that couldn't recruit or win beans in their conferences. Ayden Garnes - Duquesne, Dontez Fagan - Charlotte and TJ Crandall - Colorado State School of no winning seasons in recent history.
Meanwhile, the 2 players at the position we recruited from high school, Jacolby Spells and Jordan Jackson both seem nowhere close to seeing the field or contributing as decent players.
Our corners are awful.

At safety and Spear, other than Burks and Anthony Wilson, we have shitty depth as well.
Jaheem Joseph from Northwestern, a school well known for their great play and Kekournue Tarnue from RR's Jax State. Both not ready for prime time.
Meanwhile, the 4 we recruited from high school...again...nowhere near ready to play or be great.
Jordan Jackson, Jason Cross, Avery Wilcox, Raleigh Collins all not near ready to be every down P4 safeties.

This leads me to believe that we have tough times ahead of us with anyone with a pulse that can throw the ball.
No more Karl Joseph, no more Mike Logan, Gary Thompkins, no more Keith Tandy.

Neal and Company just can't develop defensive backs
