MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 26, 2024) – In front of 1,327 passionate fans packed inside the WVU Coliseum, the No. 20 West Virginia University wrestling team (8-3, 2-3 Big 12) fell by a score of 30-6 to No. 2 Missouri (8-0, 4-0 Big 12) on Friday night.

Friday night's attendance surpassed the team's dual in 2015 against No. 8 Iowa State (1,207) for the sixth spot in program history.

Back-to-Back decisions by redshirt sophomore Jordan Titus and true freshman Ty Watters over a pair of ranked opponents highlighted the dual for the Mountaineers.

Titus went wire-to-wire with No. 21 Josh Edmond at 141 pounds, where he eventually secured the victory after sealing an 11 second advantage of riding time in the tiebreaker. Watters added a 6-1 decision over No. 11 Logan Gioffre for his 18th overall win of the season and fourth over a ranked wrestler.

Senior Peyton Hall, ranked No. 9 in the country at 165 pounds, met No. 1 Keegan O'Toole in the showdown of the night. Hall scored two early takedowns to a hold 6-2 lead, but O'Toole came back with two of his own to escape with a 8-7 win.

West Virginia is back in action against Morgan State on Sunday, Jan. 28, in Baltimore, Maryland.
