WVU Release No. 18 West Virginia Wrestling Defeats Glenville State in Home Opener

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Nov. 6, 2024) – In front of the of 911 passionate fans inside the WVU Coliseum, the No. 18 West Virginia University wrestling team (1-0) picked up a 35-10 win over Glenville State (0-1) on Wednesday night.



The Mountaineers scored five straight bonus-point victories to hold a commanding 24-0 lead at the midway point of the dual. They added two more in the form of 18-3 technical fall by fifth-year senior Peyton Hall at 174 pounds, three matches prior to fifth-year senior Michael Wolfgram pulling off the first pin of the night in the second period of the heavyweight bout to conclude the home opener.



Up next, West Virginia battles Rider in its first road dual of the season on Thursday, Nov. 14. First match is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
