Nixon was, at least, coherent, smart and not soiling himself every time he turned around.
You probably aren't aware of the fact that many wanted him to contest the 1960 election over fraud. His advisers thought that Texas, calif and Illinois were stolen. Many still think it was stolen. He didn't think it was good for the country to contest the election. He was a fairly young man at that time. I think his paranoia led to the break in. He wasn't going to lose. It was a personality defect. We now see how much more dirty and crooked many politicians have gotten. The watergate break in was peanuts compared to what transpired in the Russia Gate crap that went on. You even had media being complicit.
If 65% of Left wing Dems "approve" of the job Biden is doing, why can't any one of them articulate exactly what it is he's doing that they approve of?

I wasn’t alive when Nixon was President. Forgotten and ignored, why was he wanting to spy on the DNC?
He didn't....but some of his political advisors who were paranoid cooked up that scheme. He screwed up when he didn't immediately order an end to the White House "plumbers" and an investigation into what they were up to?
Instead he tried to act like he didn't know anything about it, when he was actually planning how to cover it up along with his awareness of it. Just like Obama tries to pretend he didn't know anything about the illegal spying on Trump when in fact it was his DOJ that was running the whole operation!
But we have a different media now than we had during the Nixon years, although they hated Republicans back then and still do. It's just today, none of them is as interested in investigating Obama's cover up of illegal spying as much as they were eager to nail Nixon's illegal operation and coverup.
If true they should make a return of sanity to the White House by a President working for the American people a reality in 2024.

If you know some of the history, Nixon was advised to challenge the 1960 election due to voter irregularity in the states of Calif, Illinois and Texas. He said he wouldn't cause it would be bad precedent. He was paranoid about losing the election to Humphrey in 68. My guess is he pretty much put into effect the plumbers unit that broke into the Watergate. His problem, he covered it up. If he came clean, he'd had the public's forgiveness on his side. Terrible time for a President who was much smarter than everybody around him and on the other side. Paranoia isn't a good thing.
Paranoia has ruined many of great people, so have greed & jealousy.
He was my first vote for President in 72. I'm always disappointed more in republicans when they commit crimes like this. Hated Arch Moore. I expect criminal activity out of dems, it's what they do.
