Sarasota (Fla.) Booker 2026 defensive back Karaijus Hayes told me that he had been in contact with the coaching staff since the start of his junior season but made the trip up for the UCF game and found out that the Mountaineers were offering him a scholarship. He found out the news after a conversation with assistant secondary coach Jevaughn Codlin and the coaches like the physicality that he brings to the safety or nickel spots. He said that he was really impressed with the atmosphere on campus especially the fan base as well as the facilities. He plans on returning for another trip after this experience and wants to eventually find a school sometime before his senior season.
