The various pundits and sports magazines have WVU in an assortment of varying bowls, playing various opponents from Oregon, Auburn, Pitt, to Duke....

Didn't notice Marshall's prediction. But I have one....keeping on their food themed bowls...

Probably against someone like Temple or aother MAC team.

What does it matter who you play, assuming you make it to a bowl?

You're going to just lose anyway.

Are you guys going to puss out and CHOOSE to play another MAC team in a bowl?

For once, I agree with you. I hated the decision to play NIU. I understand the argument regarding the recruiting potential, but regardless of what those idiots tried to say, we would have garnered more respect playing a bowl eligible B1G team in Illinois than a MAC team, no matter if they happen to have been the conference champ or not.

Anyone who claimed otherwise was a delusional idiot.

I'm surprised you're even being mentioned about playing in a bowl game. Are you eligible?

Ummm, Tony & Humptod defended the NIU decision... just sayin'

Why can't they bring more fans to their own stadium? Let's start there and then tackle fan travel to bowl destinations later.
You would think that, being in the most populous area of the state, and "taking over the state", would give them real sellouts, every week. I know what attendance they are reporting, yet I continue to see plenty of empty seats at both 40 yard lines...

Multiple factors. Their AD is a total moron. He pissed off all the big donors and season ticket holders that were always faithful in buying the more expensive chair back seats between the 40s by demanding a $25k donation just to keep the seats they had, he made a requirement for everyone to be a Big Green member to get away game tickets and probably most significantly, no one wants to see a 0-6 team come to town for homecoming. People don't want to pay $30 to see Marshall play a team like Charlotte.

I'll defend it now. While I agree that Illinois would be a " better" opponent to the casual football fan but not to sportswriters and people who follow college football religiously. NIU was one year removed from a BCS Bowl game and was rated much higher at the end of the 2014 season as were the Illini. NIU was a conference Champion while the Illini were the 6th place team in the Big 10. If NIU would have played Illinois they would have been at least a TD favorite in 2014 and IMHO would have trounced the Illini, just like La Tech did in the Bowl game! NIU was the better team!

I know you defended the NIU call but I was pointing out the fact that one of "your own" thinks you're a delusional idiot.

Hey, I respect differing views....but NIU was a better football team than Illinois last season. I guess every sportsbook in Vegas would also fall into the delusional idiot ilk! We all know that town was built by Casino operators who are delusional idiots!
