Kearns is holding on pretty well, is he our normal Saturday starter or is Coach Mazey mixing up the pitching order?
Can't pretend I've seen a lot of their games just keep up on score and articles. Do any starters on the team go past 4 and 2/3 innings or 51 pitches? Is it a team rule or is it because freshmen can't pitch more than 51 pitches per week at the nice young age? Seems like would help not need offense so much late and still lose a lot of close ones if the bullpen didn't start in the 5th inning every game no matter what
Mountaineers lose today, but are still alive in the tournament and play tomorrow. I'm not fickle like some of you and I still believe in [WVU] baseball.

The strategy this time of year is to keep as many pitchers as possible fresh and eligible to pitch for a LOOONG tournament, especially from the loser's bracket....which we are now in. By doing this, Mazey will probably have his starter tonight ready to pitch Monday (if necessary). I would assume that our Friday night starter BJ Myers. If we win that one, have to turn around and play Wake tomorrow evening. That starter would be up in the air........does he come back with Manoah, who started yesterday but was pulled relatively early? Most likely will go with Kade Strowd as the starter in the evening game. OR........does he roll the dice, start Strowd in the Maryland game and hold Myers for Wake??? I don't think he would take the chance of holding on to his ace and get beat out without starting him, although he did technically pitch him most of the Maryland game yesterday. Jackson Sigman is only other option of the guys that are usually used in weekend games.......glad I'm not Mazey tonight trying to figure these things out. The injury to Grove is really showing now.
The Mountaineers may have lost to WF but they still played well. They should be able to take out Maryland again but in the NCAA tournament anything is possible. IMO
