WVSPORTS.COM National Statistical Rankings for West Virginia Football

Some good stats from Jed Drenning - After four games, West Virginia ranks No. 1 in the Big 12 and No. 7 nationally in Third Down Defense (25.0%). The 16 Third Down stops (2-for-18) by WVU on Saturday were the most by a Mountaineer defense since the 2011 win in the Backyard Brawl (4-for-20).

Wish there was a legitimate way to grade OLine performance.

Something I've noticed with the starting 5 + OLine, is the ability to MAUL the opponent.

Guess that can framed by
OLine efficiency,
running efficiency,
pass blocking efficiency,
not to forget TightEnd efficiency blocking & catching at critical moments.

Just a few thoughts. Our TEs are excellent.

Thanks appreciated

West Virginia 3-1 start is proof that stats and predictions are meaningless.

They could just as easily be 1-3.

You can say anything (& paint anything you want) on a msg board, but that's not necessarily true while disputing West Virginia's Record.

Couple Thoughts.

1st off, "you are what your record is", certainly.

And 2nd, West Virginia’s OLine is much better then we ever expected, including & in combination with the blocking of the two TEs.
West Virginia MAULed Pittsburgh.
West Virginia Mauled TT, early.

There's this, & There's that -
but TCU is beatable with a few modifications on Offense.

Will West Virginia beat TCU?
I guess we'll find out.

I knew the O line was going to be fine. The defense has been the biggest surprise in my opinion. Everyone in Big 12 is beatable with exception of OU and Texas. One of which we will not play.
