This is nothing against Grier, but he is dependent on the line and receivers not sucking to make offense. WVU's offense does not have any one player that can take over the game by themselves the way Major Harris, Pat White or Tavon Austin could. If every other aspect of the Sooners offense is covered or is just imploding, Murray has the ability to create offense by himself. That's why if WVU is to have a chance the defense needs to play inspired or the offense needs to be on point the entire game. The latter having the more favorable matchup and chance of coming through.

What are you talking about?

OU is great because of their OL.

Best OL WV will face all season.

Kyler Murray can make plays because he is behind 5 future NFL starters

OU is a power football team with unbelievable athletes all over the field.
Make no mistake OU loves to push your DL five yards down the field

This is why Lincoln Riley is being considered for the NFL.

Only way to beat OU is to force Murray into mistakes by blitzing him up the gut with speed .

Problem with this is that if there is an opening he will be running or throwing downfield for 55 yards.

You blitz stiff QBs up the middle... they are not a moving target

The mobile quarterback you blitz from the outside. Funneling them to what should be the strength of the defense.

If He is able to step up in the pocket and make a throw or run into the teeth of the defense for a long run, then you have to live with that.

WG seems over hyped to me. Very good but not all world. Receivers the same. Line goes to OK which would make any QB look better. However, WVU is home and that could be a difference maker...along with two other factors: playing even and not too jazzed at the beginning and coaching. The latter bothers me.

Problem with this Kyler's size..

You want to blitz him and hope he throws off his backfoot...

This is why I say with speed.

But... If you blitz him off the sides he will hide behind the OL and find an opening.

He 5’2”...I’d take my chances throwing over his 6’5” linemen when he has to step up directly behind them

He runs the option quite well too. That’s an additional productive weapon for the Sooners this year.

OU is down to one healthy RB IIRC. I would tell the LB to pick one (RB or QB) and blow that person up. Every play. That usually solves the option.

OU defense is perhaps the weakest of NCAA.

Yeah. Our offense has a tendency to go to sleep for quarters at a time, especially if they get up by a couple of scores. Not sure they've played a complete game yet this year. Maybe against Baylor.

I doubt that.

Oklahoma still has NFL talent out there.

Y'all promote David Long Jr as the best LB in the Big XII...
But OU's Kenneth Murray is lightyears above him.

OU just allows a lot of possessions.
Meaning more possessions so more points and yards.

A good thing to look at is stop percentage.
OU is around 50%.
Half of the time they are getting stops.

A lot better than a lot of other defenses.

Texas was the only one that put points on them almost every drive.

Where OU is horrible at....

A) Red Zone D. Their percentage is horrible
B) Creating Turnovers

In the bend don't break Big XII this is important

They won't be horrible at it against us. I've seen it too many times.....

OU has defensive talent
Don't know the entire situation there but a lot revolves around coaching.

They may come out and try to play their best...but
In college coaching is paramount.
Playing with an edge can only take you so far.

Kyler Murray knows how to win. He never lost a game while at Allen High School in Allen, TX. He has lost only one game at Oklahoma. He wins because he is a great player that makes plays. Let's hope Will Grier can shoot it out with him and lead the Mountaineers to victory. Warez

Yawn. They gave up 40 to Kansas.
106 in Passing yards allowed
67 against the run
128 in red zone defense (of course WVU is 101) expect a lot of points.
Scoring D 86 / 30.7 (WVU 43 / 23.3 you can say bad teams all you want but at least WVU took care of business against those bad teams) OU weak D strong O.

Can WVU bring it all 4 quarters then WVU is looking at a win.

Yards and points are based on possessions.

The best stats to judge a D by are...
Third down percentage
Red zone percentage
Scoring percentage

OU gives up a lot of points and yards because they allow a lot of possessions.

Best way to beat OU is to limit their possessions and score on yours.

Meaning that you can't allow OU to have 12-15 possessions.

That number has to be less than ten.

If DH and WV thinks they can outgun OU they are 100% incorrect.

Down right ugly in the red zone for both teams. This will be a high scoring game. No matter what this TVZ Texas troll thinks he knows.
