It's been a long time since I've posted so I thought I would take this opportunity to celebrate.

It has been one of the best weeks in the history of our basketball program, as far as regular season goes. It isn't often that we have beaten 2 ranked teams in a week's time.

We are in first place in the best conference in America.

We have a stellar backcourt and great agile big dudes hogging the boards.. the best press in America and a decent halfcourt defense... guards who can drive the ball and kick it out, guards who can hit the 3, big men who can hit the midrange jumpers, we got offensive rebounders, we've got a deep roster, which means everyone (possibly with the exception of Williams) is replaceable if they're injured or in foul trouble.

If the NCAAs began today, we would get a 2 seed.... buckle up though, because in the best conference in America, we are bound to take some hits.

Even 7 losses may earn us a B12 championship; and possibly a 1 or 2 seed... going 14-4 or 13-5 in conference will definitely put us within one game of the reg. season crown. I don't even know how the B12 decides a regular season champion if the teams have the same conference record and 1-1 against each other.. ? if someone could tell me how, i'd appreciate it.

We have a legit shot at this. I'm excited. I love it! I couldn't be more optimistic about our chances at Kansas, which would really be a giant statement for us in this league... they've won a billion straight b12 championships, for us to beat them twice and be in position to take the crown would be remarkable. Let's GOOOOO

This is my favorite Bob Huggins team at WVU.

They are unselfish.

Huggins isn't afraid to crack the whip if anyone has a momentary lapse.

Huggins showed a lot of admiration for his players' attitudes and dedication in the Baylor post-game press conference.

With Kansas next and 4 top 20 teams in 8 games, the road ahead ain't easy.

But I love the way WVU passes the ball around, working it from 25 feet to 14 feet to 5 feet for an unguarded layup. The defense just wears out every opponent to the point where they can't make free throws in the 2nd half the way they did in the first half, or 3's or, hell, even layups.

This is the poster child for what a team should be. One for all and all for one.

And that means all 10 guys running in and out throughout the game. You can't beat WVU by stopping one guy. Hell, they can't beat them with Jon Holton suspended. There's a life lesson there for Holton, too.

If Holton comes back and merged seamlessly into this one for all mentality, the Big 12 and -- dare I say it -- a national title are not unrealistic hopes. Sure, that takes luck, drive and smarts and focus. But this team seems to have it.

Dana and the football team could learn a lot from this basketball team. They could make it a double WVU Big 12 title if they did.

I don't know if I'd say I love this team any more than the final four team but this team seems like it is bound for some greatness. First things first, lets win the b12 and put an end to Kansas' historic run. Let's run the table, why not? haha. Realistically, if we go into the last couple games with a chance to win the B12, this season is a huge success to me.

Furthermore, if we can win the B12 tourney or get to the title game, that'd be another notch on this historic season... and then, if we were to get to the sweet sixteen again, and draw a team we match up well against, we could very well make a push for the championship. If Butler and George Mason can do it, we certainly can. We just need to stay healthy, keep getting better, and get really hot at the right time.. and I'm not sure if we are in the midst of that "zone" or if it's yet to come. Of course we can all hope for the latter

It would be sweet to see us win another Conf Championship game under Huggins while in another conference. Winning the Big East back in 2010 was a challenge, same goes for being in the Big 12.

I'm excited about the possibilities of this WVU team but I'm even more excited about the future of WVU basketball.

If Dana and staff can get the football team playing at this level we will all be very blessed to call ourselves Mountaineers.[WVU]
