1) That’s the best team we’ll face all season with high draft picks on both sides of the ball and we competed (for the most part). Had some good stops on D and held their running game, which was supposed to be prolific, mostly in check. Gameplan was to force their young, yet extremely talented, QB to make plays and he had playmakers all over to help him do so.

2) We didn’t turn it over one time and had opportunities to turn them over (dropped 2 INTs in the first half🤦🏻‍♂️)

3) The run game looked good at times! CJ is a BEAST and we’ve got some depth there. Would love to see more 2 RB sets than 2 TE sets…

4) We didn’t have any stupid timeouts. PSU did though!😂 I read Franklin’s lips after they called a timeout off a kickoff and he screamed into his headset “That’s f^£|ing embarrassing…” felt good to NOT be us for a change

5) We threw passes to a big bodied TE on multiple occasions. I’d like to see that stay in the gameplan going forward

6) Any other positives to be added? These are my hazy Sunday AM thoughts so they’re incomplete to say the least…

Overall, this went about as expected with a “2014 Alabama” vibe. A competitive 1 possession game at the half, and then the depth of talent started to separate the game in the second half. We played a DEEPLY talented team with All Americans and future NFL players on the road on national TV, and now have the experience of being on THAT stage. This was going to be a learning experience any way you look at it and I’d like to think we’ll learn from it and improve. We have our tune up game next Saturday and then sPitt the week after. I’ll see y’all there!😎🤙🏻
