MLB attendance dying, pro sports $ will fall all across board

Actutally baseball is up 5% from last year. and where do I start:

1. You provide not stats, merely all opinions.
2. They're not their
3. Teams are run by Business degree people responsible for handling MILLIONS. If they didn't have the money, the players wouldn't get it.
4. Baseball tickets are extremely affordable, even on a pizza delivery salary...cough cough
5. Know not no.

You made me laff sir. Wish I could give you like(x)10. Like1x1 will have to do sir.

ESPN screwed themselves their going to lose a ton of money over the sucky NBA. They overpaid and next TV negotiations will be much lower which will lower player salaries.....in 5 years no network will give the NBA a lot of money. All pro TV deals will get lower in next 5-10 years. That will lower player and coach salaries.

Today’s NBA is a professional-sports league on the rise. Its ratings on TNT are up 20 percent from last year. Its ratings on NBATV, the league’s cable channel, are up 20 percent. ESPN and ABC’s NBAratings are up as well, and 17 out of 30 teams have seen improvements in their local markets. Taken in isolation, these numbers are impressive. Viewed in context, they’re breathtaking.

College-football ratings are down. More channels combined with ample streaming options fragment the audience. Cord-cutting means fewer homes even have all the available sports channels.

Yet the NBA rolls on. How? It’s a league that’s political, but it’s not defined by politics. Its stars can be controversial, but they’re not defined by controversy. It’s a league that’s learned to put the main thing — the game — front and center while respecting its players’ convictions and individuality. And the players themselves have made different choices, understanding that they can use their immense platforms to advance their causes without deliberately inflaming their audience around the emotional flashpoint of the national anthem. The players speak out, but so far they do not kneel.

And that matters.

The NBA is trash. Lots of NBA owners losing money. Just a fact. Last year half of NBA was losing money. Big financial disaster coming for NBA. Player salaries will take a nose dive hit in next 5-10 years. Their out of wedlock kids will need money.

But losing money is a much more complicated thing for NBA teams than for you or I. This isn’t a faulty air conditioner that uses electricity inefficiently. For an NBA team, in fact, losing money can still benefit a team’s owner.

Some teams who are losing money on the basketball teams gain it all back in other areas. The National Basketball Player’s Association clearly believes that might be a problem and exercised their right to audit several teams two years ago.

Actually college football is the most overall watched sport in the USA by far but each game doesn’t get the big ratings like years ago because there are more game options on a million more sports channels. Too many college teams on tv on too many channels it waters down each game. Everybody in every state can watch their college teams nowadays. Years ago we only got a limited amount of games to watch. College has way more states and teams involved.

The NBA has to market hard to get attention. Like 90% of America hates NBA. It’s a dead dog. The finals was a low ratings disaster. LA, NY, Bay area are the only thing keeping NBA barely alive. It’s still pretty dead. Has been for 20 years despite bigger population in cities, metros.

WVUALLEN we understand your young or just haven’t grown up yet. We know you love pro sports. We get it. Who the hell watches the NBA besides you and a bunch of unemployed hood rats? Pro sports needs big ratings cause it’s not a broad spectrum like the hundreds of college teams around 50 states.

Pratt stalks me on here. He wants attention so bad. Guy brings nothing to the board. He’s a casual observer looking to fit in and get acceptance on a freakin message board. It’s like who cares just speak the truth. Guy is a dumbass.

I could post links about how bad the NBA is and how the NBA has struggled post Michael Jordan era. I could post links about bad NBA ratings. I don’t read links people post. It’s a waste of time. Some links are bogus fake propaganda. NBA is dead. Who do you know that wants to talk NBA????? Ask yourself. It’s not a popular topic outside the hood. Hell most of the hood doesn’t give a shit about NBA anymore. Reality.

This thread is gold. Betting against pro sports dominance is like betting against the casino to lose their guaranteed house edge. OP is a rube.

Every sport has been on an upswing since the beginning of play, of course everything will eventually plateau, but there is no wall about to be hit where players will be going hungry, teams will start folding in record numbers, rosters will shrink, etc. If that reality is ever about to hit anywhere in the sports world, it will be your precious college sports because if you really think about it there is no rational explanation for it to even exist, its a money pit for the majority of the participants.

When lebron left Cleveland the first time, it broke WVUUSA5............... he was a "huge" internet Cavs fan.

NBA has been dead for 20 years. Nice try. I don’t read your poor journalism links. You waste your time. Pro sports is on decline. College will never fall. Pro wouldn’t exist if college didn’t create that trash. 200 college teams have a real following. Pro is only 30 cities. The 200 college teams have way more viewers and fans than pro. That’s why you all are on here loving WVU cause college rules.

You all love WVU sports, college sports that’s why you are on here. How much time do you spend on pro sites? Lol....most grown men that went to college like college sports better as well. But like I said you guys know college is more dominant that’s why you clown wimps are on this site. It’s college sports mania!!!! I’m always spot on.

Your college fans, your WVU fans!!!!!! Pro blows. Cheesy pro fans are laughable.

They ride my knowledge that’s why they keep this thread going. They rehash the thread and lose. Everybody knows pro sports is declining and boring compared to college sports. Who doesn’t know this????

We are bored. So we respond to have a laugh at your expense. You don't like links because it shows your wrong as always. You don't post links on NBA because your wrong and won't admit it. I chuckle at your less than intelligent post.

Question of the day is what profile will you use next?

This whole NBA ratings discussion is a joke. The only one that counts is NCAA football and the Mountaineers specifically.

Perhaps Keaton should go on a professional sports (probably his true love, the NBA) forum and get all giggly about a bunch of overpaid men playing a child's game. Just sayin' lol.
