Ellijay, GA - High above the Coosawattee River
Cactus Bowl - Phoenix, AZ - 1/2/16 - WVU vs. Arizona (SB Nation 10/24 & USA Today 10/21)

Russell Athletic Bowl - Orlando, FL - 12/29/15 - WVU vs. Duke (Sports Illustrated 10/18)

Texas Bowl - Houston, TX - 12/29/15 - WVU vs. Kentucky (CBS Sports 10/25)

Cactus Bowl would be the most watched of the least important bowl broadcasts of the year!

uh, it's going to take a miracle for Arizona to even become bowl eligible.....

5-3 with their only home game being Utah

Bowl season should always be about arranging matchups that just would never happen otherwise. Freshness is what makes bowl season interesting. The lack of it is why the ones we had against Maryland and Syracuse were the worst ever.

We haven't played either Duke or Kentucky in football since the 1980s, so those would have some novelty.

Personally I'd love to see us face a Pac-12 school if we can get bowl eligible because we haven't faced a sitting member of the conference since 1979. There are several Pac-12 schools, including Arizona, that we've never played at all. I'd love to see one of those games. Maybe even Washington St so you could have the "teacher v. disciple" angle between Leach and Holgorsen.

uh, Arizona needs one win to become bowl eligible.

WV needs 3 and has not won in more than a month.

neat. Our schedule has 6 games left and was front-loaded with difficulty...............

Zona has 4 games left and has 3 road games to places where fierce competition awaits and hosts a top 10 opponent.

Dana's offense (the immovable object) vs Casteel's defense (the irresistible force). That would be interesting...

Any one of those bowls (which hopefully the Mountaineers can turn it up a notch down the stretch), would be very interesting matchups as Go has eluded to re: playing a program we're not used to facing...the Kentucky matchup would be very interesting to see imo...Dana vs Stoops/Dawson adds some intrigue, and it's a border battle....of course Kentucky who came flying outta the gate could also stand to turn things up a notch...the Towles kid is interesting, solid arm and seems to have some smarts...

Of that list:

Orlando is the best destination city but a crappy day of week (12/29/15 is a Tuesday) & a crappy opponent in Duke In terms of appeal. To me this is the cheapest option even though it's 800 miles off.

Kentucky is an interesting opponent and shares a border, but again the game in Texas again on a Tuesday.
Like the opponent but date & place are no & no.

The game vs dick in AZ is on a Saturday and you could fly into Vegas & spend New Years & drive down in 3 hrs, so there's appeal. I Just don't want a bowl game in AZ not named the Fiesta, and playing that SOB is something I just don't want to do. He doesn't deserve to play WVU. I really, as close as I can get to hating someone, hate that SOB.

Here's to hoping there's option D and/or the opponents get better with options A & C.

That's my synopsis. Let's gets some more Ws starting Thursday or its all for not anyway.
