Playing like crap. Don't know who their shooters are. Leaving them open. You guys can talk smack all you want about disrespecting Marshall.....but there is a reason we play like crap against them. We are NOT focused.....

If the coach down plays the game what effect does that have on the players? It's always irritated me that Huggins is so blah about the game. I hope we can drop Marshall.
Every damn year, it's the same. They got some white boy who shoots like Steph Curry. Every. Single. Year.
It's like Groundhog Day.
Not to mention, they flop like Lebron James and get all of the calls.
College basketball wants rule changes? How about this rule change, start calling embellishment fouls! If you flop or take a dive, you should be charged with a technical foul. Other team shoots 2 foul shots and gets the ball. How is this not a rule?

Well, to be honest, we've left those shooters open and they hit the shots. It was like we didn't know their best 3 point shooter or who he was. We left him twice, and he knocked both down.
That is what happens when we are their national championship game and they are the worst team on our schedule. Time for some welfare reform!
Was the game tonight? I completely forgot about it. I assume we won by a margin of 15-25. This game just doesn't do it for me.

Huggs downplays the game because we have higher aspirations than blowing out Marshall. We win this game 90% of the time and we usually sleepwalk. One of the few times we arguably "focused" was when we had a bad team in 2012-13 and Marshall on paper should have been in the game and we won by double digits.
The players arent robots, like it or not they will be more "up" for certain games than others. Huggs cant prepare them for every game like its the national championship, the players will be mentally burnt out after 3 weeks.
Marshall on the other hand will always over prepare for this game. As a Marshall basketball player, this game, maybe 1 or 2 other non conference games against P5 opponents, and the Conference Tournament are likely the only remotely "big time" events you get each year, the rest of your games are played in tiny 20% full arenas that if you're lucky are televised locally in Huntington or on ESPN3, can you blame them for giving us their A game each year?
