How can anyone get excited about that? The first marshall team after the crash could've competed against those teams

That is why they draw about 20k per home game. The road games are usually worse. They need to go back to IAA and stop wasting taxpayer dollars...
And this is exactly right! The state is pouring $15.1 million per year in that pathetic athletic "program", and has dumped millions more into the Joan Men's Athletic Research Facility (if that isn't some sort of bad joke) to get 20,000 heavily subsidized, $10 per ticket butts in the seats to watch the Terd play exactly nobody. Truth be told, if the state is going to p*ss their money away like that, they could dump $15.1 million into entertainment in any real, not thug city in our state and draw more than that many people a half dozen times per year. They could spend it on the World Wrestling Federation and draw bigger crowds.

SEVEN straight non Top 100 opponents... Wow!

Frankly, for Huntington residents, there isn't much difference between going to Friday night high school games and going to Marshall games. Even the ticket prices are similar. The main difference is the state is being ripped off to the tune of $15.1 million per year to preen the egos of the Huntington business community.

I'm willing to bet that if the state (which can't even afford to patch the potholes in its roads) would throw $15.1 million at any entertainment option in a single city during a year, they could draw more fans spending more money than that money brings p*ssing it down the drain on an athletic program that really should be Division 2 given its actual level of support.

Give Morgantown $15 million per year and we would have hundreds of thousands of people here for concerts and the like.
