$200,000/2000=$100

WVU's $20,000/hr. I love capitalism. Markets determine the value. An above average, say, Realtor, makes more than Marshall's sports program. Only difference is, the realtor isn't on state welfare.

Dana - $3,500,000 per year
Doc - $600,000 per year

Dana - $3,500,000/8 wins per year - Cost you $437,500 per win
Doc - $600,000/10 wins per year - Cost the Herd $60,000 per win

Tell that to your Realtor.

$ 437,500 to beat Kansas....geez, somebody re-negotiate that contract!

They've certainly invested a lot of dough to win a few games against a handful of stiffs. Just checked, and those five wins came over teams with a combined mark of 8-28.

We'll be cheering on the cousins, now that they begin to play a couple teams with meat on their bones. Can the cousins win out?

Dana helps us earn the $34.8 million the Big XII pays out to WVU each year- , he gets roughly 10% of that....
while Doc's salary is is nearly four times the $200,000 CUSA pays out to Marshall

Now who do you think is getting the better value ?

Dana - $3,500,000/10 wins per year - Cost you $350,000 per win
Doc - $600,000/3 wins per year - Cost the Herd $200,000 per win and no bowl money for the school.

FIFY

* source is actual results for 2016

I don't think they play enough defense to win on Saturday...but I'll root for the delusional and misguided Cousins just the same! Maybe Dana can earn some of that loot.

Doesn't Kansas football get that same payout?

Corrected for You.

Since 2011:

WVU (HOGO) 51 Wins $23,400,000/51 = $451,765.00 per Win (Year 7 prorated)
HERD (DOC) 54 Wins $3,950,000/54 = $73,149.00 per Win

Obviously a drain on the state budget.

Except WVU does not use state funds for football. Another 89 IQ post.

That's funny. Have your ever checked the Marhall schedule and the strength of schedule of their opponents ? I will clue you in........it's one or two losses to a P-5 team every year and the rest of the slate combines to give Marshall one of the weakest schedules in all of FBS football. Every single year.

Next time you run into HOGO at the beer joint, ask him if you can look at his paycheck. Or, you could go to the WV Government site, and view the salaries for state employees.
Which is self funded by the the athletic department. Thanks for playing.

The state pays Dana's base salary of $250,000. The rest of his salary is from the $105 million budget of the athletic department, which is not funded by the state legislature.

Thanks for proving stills wrong, Buzz.

Before you puff your chest out too much you might want to keep in mind that every teacher, and every coach at either Marshall or WVU gets his or her base pay from the state, including Doc Holliday. They are employees of the State of WV. Anything else they get is from the athletic departments at their respective schools, which the state legislature has nothing to do with. My post didn't prove still5 wrong, instead it showed how you are posting BS that you know nothing about.

Nothing new there.

10 wins a year in what alternate universe?.........btw a factoid you might enjoy...WVU's worst football loss ever was 130-0 ......to meatchicken....but they were coached by a native west virginian or they wouldn't have won

Obviously, our wins are much more valuable. Besides, what Dana pays in state tax, real estate tax, sales tax.......makes him an asset. Doc, not so much. He won't crack the nut the state lays out for him. Couple that with the cost to home confine his brother......He's a liability.
