We've all read threads both here and on your boards about how Marshall is too good for the MAC.
Sagarin says otherwise.

When you stack the MAC up against the CUSA, the MAC looks like the stronger conference -

MAC.....................................................CUSA
#22 Western Michigan.........................#49 Western Kentucky
#51 Toledo...........................................#61 Louisiana Tech
#90 Northern Illinois.............................#91 Middle Tennessee
#92 Ohio University..............................#96 Old Dominion
#99 Central Michigan...........................#105 Southern Miss
#113 Miami Ohio..................................#106 Texas San Antonio
#117 Eastern Michigan........................#134 North Texas
#122 Akron..........................................#138 Marshall
#123 Ball State....................................#148 Florida International
#135 Bowling Green............................#154 UNC Charlotte
#141 Kent State...................................#156 Florida Atlantic
#176 Buffalo.........................................#162 Rice
.............................................................#173 Texas El Paso
(Sagarin rankings 11-20-16)

Not a whole lot of difference, but the MAC pays better, offers regional rivalries that your fans can easily travel to when playing away from home, and your games would once again be shown on real TV networks.

Swallow your pride and tell your AD you want to get back where you once could compete....

You had me until the last sentence. We've been in two of the past 4 CUSA title games and won it two years ago. This year had been mind boggling for certain

Plus MAC gets more than 200K a year TV money.

True, but that was before CUSA slashed their payout. Marshall athletics was already 45 percent subsidized before that happened. Budgetary problems are going to catch up with Marshall sooner rather than later, and will probably first be felt with reduced staff to make up for the missing dollars. That and practically no TV exposure is going to impact recruiting. Both of those things could be helped in part by going back to the MAC. The Mid America Conference may not be P-5, but it is a respected conference - CUSA, not so much.
