Holy shit the ball flies down there! Geesh.

We weren't keeping score, just having fun, but I had 2 birdies and probably 8 pars the first day ... and then there were the other holes. :)

Either the yardages were off, or the ball really carries, or a little of both. 333 yard par 4 I was pin high to the left of the green on my drive. Another was 384 (the last parts of the fairway were downhill) and my drive was 30 yards in front of the green. Another was a dogleg left, played a draw around with my 3 wood and got like 290 out of it.

I do NOT hit the ball that far anymore, so there was definitely something with the altitude or something. It was crazy.

Ball flies there it's the elevation l, I was popping 315 yard drives routinely. Then I went to the beach and was hit with reality again. That's one of my favorite courses I've ever played

It's definitely a fun course. The first day I just used 3 iron off the tee a lot because it's kinda tight in places. I used driver on a few of the holes the first day and used it on just about all of them the 2nd.

When I played at the beach I thought I was hammering the ball and was only getting like 270 out of it, maybe. Then get up there and cranking it over 300. That definitely makes it more fun.

one of my favorite places also...two stories....every time we play there ...on the short downhill par 3 with a cliff behind it....my wife takes far too much club and pool shots it off the cliff back on to the green...every damn time........and on the long par 4 where the tee is way up on a hill....last time I was there two years ago my one of the guys I was playing with hit his tee shot near what we thought was a small deer.....WRONG...it was a very large bobcat.....we debated long and hard but finally let him drop one no penalty because the bobcat did not want to move

The par 3 with the cliff behind it ... I never came close to hitting the green. It was almost intimidating because it was so short and also because I didn't know how much to compensate for the elevation drop. First time was short left, second time was up on that bank, but it didn't come back down. :)

I used a 3 iron and a 5 iron to reach the green on the par 4 the first day. Used my driver the second and thought for sure I hit it over the road when it was in the air, but it was left of the fairway. I tried a 3 iron and to draw it in from the right because I didn't want to try to carry that waste area on the left, but it didn't draw, so I had to pitch from behind the mounds on the right of the green.

Never saw any wildlife beyond deer and squirrel ... would have been cool as hell (and a bit scary) to see a bobcat.

The whole place just seems like a huge optical illusion with all of the elevation changes. How far is it really from here to there? What do I hit? Especially since we didn't find very many yardage markers on the sprinklers either.

a group of 12 of us went a few years ago in May...went out to dinner and stayed on top of the mountain and woke up the next day to 4 inches of snow......wild place
