FLASH : Lexington, Kentucky- March 25th, 2015
The University of Kentucky announced today a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for next month concerning two new dormitories to be constructed on the UK Campus. The dorms will be twin towers of 16 floors each . A male dorm and a female dorm will accommodate 700 UK students when completed in 2020.
The new facilities will be unique at UK because these dorms will be the first to have indoor plumbing. Plans to renovate the existing dorms are also being pursued. "With students being able to shower inside and have toilet facilities for the first time in Kentucky History, we are excited about the future of our school " added the Chancellor of UK. Plans to remove all existing out houses on campus are in the works. Shower and bathing facilities at Clays Ferry will be phased out by the university by 2020 as well.
Many new bylaws will be added for new students when the renovations are completed. All UK students will be issued Blue & White Tooth Brushes with a UK Logo . This will commemorate the invention of the tooth brush in Lexington. Of course, we all know if it had been invented in any other place it would be called " teeth brush". All UK students will be required to wear shoes in the new facilities. A nationwide campaign has been launched to have shoes donated for the " Kentucky Causes". If the ambitious plan is a success, shoes leftover will be given out all over the state!
To help with the cost of these projects, all movie theaters in the state of Kentucky will be hosting a Marathon Watching of The Dukes of Hazard, Deliverance and the Beverly Hillbillies this weekend. So UK Fans, come on out this weekend and show your support from Lexington to Pikeviile, to Bowling Green and to Ashland for your Old Kentucky Home .
