Michigan appeared to take the night off. I don't think they were physically tired, but almost looked as though they were mentally drained, as they just didn't bring nothing to the game last night. No energy, no movement, just appeared to mail it in last night. Very disappointing performance all the way around. Will be interesting to see how they turn around and play tomorrow night against a Michigan State team that desperately needs a win.

I've seen a few other teams at late basically do the exact same thing. Baylor seemed to be doing it their first couple of games back, and Ohio State performed similarly against Iowa on Sunday. It could all be physically drained, but I'm still leaning towards burn-out (mentally drained and unprepared).

I'm not going to be around much the next couple of weeks, just a spot post here and there, as we're in our busy time of the year with the NCAA tournament and conference tournaments. We just finished placing the brackets on the Weston Hotel in downtown Indianapolis, and have tons more work between now and March 19th. If you need a part time job, we can get you up there on a scaffold and put a squeegee in your hand. We have 64 names to add after selection Sunday.

It happens to every team every year. The reason teams like Gonzaga can win 30 games a year regularly is because on nights like Michigan had last nihht they can still win by a couple buckets in their league where teams in better leagues cant afford a bad night since they are playing top 50 teams almost every game.

It's a crazy year of hoops. Last night, Michigan was up on Michigan State by a score of 64 to 36, the exact same score they were down to Illinois by only two nights earlier. I have a feeling my March madness brackets are going to look like hell after the first weekend of action. Wouldn't surprise me to see some lower seed, maybe two lower seeds, make a deep tournament run.

Basketball is always a crapshoot because there are kids all over mid majors and big majors who can go off on a given night and in a tournament that can spell bad things for any team.
