the Cards were the best bet of opening night but thought they'd be around 28 1/2...I swear 38 1/2 makes me like them even more! I know that's counter intuitive but speculation often is rewarded positions outside the box.

With the things Charlotte's program has had to go through to keep afloat, I'm surprised there's a line on this one at all.

I didn't see them last year against the Herd but caught their act with UK...not very good, a long way to go!

At the moment it's smoke and mirrors there with the football team, Tony. Not enough quality players and a lack of community support in a pro town.

I've never understood the rush to FCS status all these small basketball schools made with football. Did they really think the money was still going to be there after the demise of the BCS and the rise of the playoff?

I can't answer that ,Mike! Charlotte does seem to be in a growing city but I agree hard for the 49's to carve out a niche in that area.....seems like a kid would have a lot of options before he'd sign with Charlotte.

LOL.

Charlotte has had some very good basketball teams over the years. Why not put the money where it would help put the schools name out there?

CUSA looks like it was a perfect fit for Charlotte

You're probably right about that, Louisville would probably be the heavy favorite against any CUSA team.

They'd be favored over the following b12 teams as well

WVU by at least 14
Kansas heavy
KSU by at least 12
Iowa State heavy

Marshall 1 CUSA championship
UNCC 0 CUSA championships

After the herd getting a 10 year head start, UNCC is only 1 behind.

Go herd
More like 1 year head start but not let the facts get in the way.... call me when the 49ers notch their first C-USA win!

UNCC started playing football 3 years ago and last year was their first in CUSA. MVU started playing in 2005 (CUSA). Tony is full of shit as usual.
Sorry the 49ers only had last season but my advise to the boys from Charlotte would try to be competitive in a game this year, maybe even win one , them dream of C-USA crowns! But all the best to the 49er's, just not on Thursday night next!

Louisville, just another of the many teams that have placed WVU in their rear view mirror during the 'Big Things are Coming' era...

ACC had their choice between Louisville and WVU...took the Cards and left the Mounties looking for a date!

Wrong. WVU joined the Big 12 in 2012, Loiusville went to the ACC in 2014. But don't let facts get in the way.

I think you need to look at a calendar and dates of each event. But don't let that get in the way of your spin.

Tony is correct. It's common knowledge that the ACC said thanks, but no thanks to the Ears every time Oliver came a beggin'. Sure, the dates don't match, but they definitely said NO to the Ears, as they waited patiently for who they truly wanted - Pitt, Cuse, and of course the Cards.
