Like someone once said about this team. These kids can Beat anyone in the country and Lose to anyone in the country. Think they have a lot of heart and I'm excited about March Madness. Not sure about the Jayhawks..though...I think they are Highly beatable....don't know if they can win that title but if they can't hope we do!

1. WVU lost to the #1 team in the country, after splitting the season with Kansas.

2. Devin Williams played a fantastic game, shooting and rebounding.

3. The team never stopped scrapping and clawing, no matter the score. That's a good sign. No giving up in this bunch.

4. NO team will want to draw WVU in March Madness, particularly in the 2nd game of the week, with only 1 day between games to prepare for 10 pit bulls in the press (well, 9 the last 2 games).

5. I'm proud of this team.

6. Now, let's enjoy the #2 seed, and the rule that teams can't be bracketed to play each other a fourth time for the season till way down the road, so Oklahoma and Kansas won't be in WVU's quadrant in all likelihood.

7. Notice other ranked teams did NOT win their conference tournaments? It's that kind of year.

8. March Madness is going to be crazier than it's ever been. I seriously doubt that any bracket-filler in America will get this one right all the way.

9. If the football team does as well as the basketball team, WVU fans are in for some high cotton.

I do love this team. But as Brent's sidekick last night said "if WV could shoot some 3's they'll beat anybody". We had good looks and open shots all night but not much dropped from the perimeter.

that is very true. and you can look at many things we could have done better in the game last night. but what really jumps out at me as how many more 3-pt shots KU made relative to their average. and as simplistic as it sounds, if they make 2 less 3-pointers (so they would be 7 of 15 instead of 9 of 15 or if they only shot 47% which would still have been above their season average) and we make 2 more 3-pointers (so we make 4 of 15 instead of 2 of 15 or 27% which would have still been below our average of 33%), we are looking at a game that comes down to a last shot. Yes, that is a simplistic way of looking at it and many other factors could have made a difference (less turnovers, more offensive rebounds with second chance points, etc), but it is still amazing to me that with all the things that did not go our way, just a couple of 3-pointers either way could have been a W for us.

We can and will play with anyone and this should be a very fun tournament for us. Would not surprise me at all if we are still playing when Kansas is watching from home.

I think our defense will create havoc for teams, especially teams who havent ever played us or experienced our mayhem.

Aka Kentucky last season ?

You make a good point but just remember there's some teams out there that could completely expose our style of play.
