Lost to a bunch of men. We will get much better. Them, not so much.

Don't think they will learn much unless they can find a guard who wants to learn how to play the point. The guards were clueless in the half court offense in the second half and Williams needs to look for the open man assuming someone realizes that he is double teamed and they are open. Just frustrated with the play tonight and venting a little. Huggs needs someone to want to be the point guard or it will be a long season.

Huggs needs to recruit point guards more than develop them. Taking off-guards and turning them into a point is doing it the hard way.

I'm pretty sure what we saw against UVA will be the story of this season. At times our press will click and the team will look impressive. Other times, against good teams, it will come apart at the seams.

People forget that we lost 8 games in the B12 last year ..... when we had a point guard.
It's not like Press Virginia steam-rolled the conference last year.

I think since 2000 WVU is 7-17 vs Pitt. Under Huggy I think it's 4-7. Beating WVU is not a big deal

Do the fighting Jamie's still play basketball up there? I haven't heard or seen them guess I need to tune into the nit or the cbi when those roll around. Have fun getting the tobacco road treatment.

Well given how Pitt has made the NCAA's 2 out of the past 3 years whereas WVU has missed the NCAA's 2 out of the past 3 years (including the 13-19 2013 team)...I guess you really haven't been paying attention

You really seem to pay attention to Wvu hoops I don't blame you considering the alternative. Let me also guess that Wvu went deeper in the tournament last year than those two years Pitt made it? Did pit make it out of the 1st rd?

Higgs needs an offensive coordinator ....offense has never been something we have done well since coach B.

I do pay attention. I really like Huggy. He a great coach and a real character.

Pitt made it out of the first game one year and lost the other. Of course Huggs gets bounce the first weekend more often than not so it's really about match-ups and a lot of luck

You really don't want to enter that argument when your HC is named Jamie Dixon.........

Lil Jamie has a 20% success rate of making it out of the first weekend of the Dance....

Huggs? 33%

I expect a smarter Pitt troll next time. Go read up

Head to Head Jamie 7 Huggs 4.

What it says is that you don't pay attention. Maybe you stopped caring a few years ago when WVU went 13-19..or the year after when they missed the NCAA's for the 2nd straight year.

Maybe you stopped watching Pitt because they beat up on WVU so regularly... 7-17 since 2000 is domination no matter how you slice it.

I have a lot of respect for Dixon, as I believe he gets the most he can out of the Pitt Program....I'd have more respect for him if he wasn't such a cry baby on the sidelines.....He's worse than Huggins ever was and Huggins always put on a pretty bad show......Huggins has been a lot better this year......Good for him....

For those saying Huggs needs to recruit point guards, he did. Bolden....and he got injured. Is that Huggs fault too?

It is funny trying to watch a Pitt fan try to rationalize a loss to Pacific in the NCAA Tournament.

Comparing Dixon to Huggins is about as fair as comparing Drake to Nas, Friendster to Facebook, Nicki Minaj to Jay-Z, Justin Bieber to the Rolling Stones, Pittsburgh to New York/LA or the Petersen Events Center to Madison Square Garden.

Huggins 21 conference championships vs 3.

Huggins 21 NCAAs vs 10.

Huggins 29 NCAA tournament wins vs 12.

Huggins 2 Final Fours to none.

Huggins 4 Elite Eights vs 1.

Huggins 7 Sweet 16s vs 3.

Huggins 772 wins vs 314. Just 458 wins to catch up.

Gale Catlett has 251 more career wins than Dixon. That measure (565) will take decades of work to equal by Dixon.

Well Huggs has been a HC for 32 years and Dixon has been a HC for 12 years. So there is that. It's also considerably easier to win the MVC or Conference USA than it is to win the Big East. Last year was the first year in his career that JD's team didn't win 20 games (only won 19). He has a career winning % of .737 and reached 200 wins faster than any coach in NCAA history

I guess we can make a valid comparison 20 years from now.

Pointing out facts isn't rationalization. They are facts. Pacific was the higher seed. They were recognized as being the better team. Now a #6 losing to a #11......................

Again

Dixon makes it out of the first weekend of the Dance 20% of the time...... 2/10.........

Huggs- 33%...7/21

Again, Dixon 3 Sweet 16's and one Elite 8 in 10 appearances = 30%

It kind of makes me sad to bludgeon you like this...but you deserve it. Try another tact

and again..

Which team is in the top 20 currently

And which program has seen a mass exodus of talent and is making ends meet with 5th year poaches from mid majors?

You do realize that this year's sPitt team is not good, right? Dixon's charmin soft OOC scheduling always masks his roster's flaws until January......

Plus now that he lost Slice and Orlando, his recruiting has went to shit as well..... That NYC pipeline is now a pipe dream

Personally if I were you, I'd put that Northwestern jersey back on instead

This jackass is talking about embarrassing 6/11 seed upsets

When Jamie Dixon blew it as a #1 seed on Week 1 in 2011

Comparing cat to dixon is the more reasonable comparison. Both are overall average coaches. Cat and Jamie both struggle/struggled in the tournament where coaches careers are mostly defined. Another reasonable comparison for Dixon is Roy chipman. Pitt hoops through the years is just littered with average results.

Just like Huggins did in 2002...or losing the first weekend as #2 in 2000

You do realize that Butler made the Championship game in 2011...or maybe you don't

lol, this guy is comparing a mid-major Cinci program who was over-seeded and had just lost the single, best college basketball player in that year to a broken leg..........

to Pitt.

Maybe he's coming back to reality after all..

But I do like that he's going with the "We lost to a Final Four team, so that means more" excuse....

Let us look at it another way. Since coming to WVU in 2007, Bob Huggins is 6-1 in the Tournament when facing an opponent seeded lower than his own team................. and is 2-4 against opponents of a higher seed

Jamie Dixon............... 9-7 as the higher seed............ and 1-4 as the underdog

Meaning.......... Dixon, annually, loses in March to worse teams. Like when he rode that #5 seed to an awesome defeat at the hands of #13 Bradley...

of course, then there's the fact that Dixon has saved more people from burning cars than Final Fours he's coached in........ 'cause.............
