That's strange. Out beside Owen Porter's name it says "Recruited By" for WVU and it's blank. It also says "Interest" None. It also says "Offer" and it's blank.

I don't know if Owen Porter had a WVU offer or not, but either way it's a nice pickup for Marshall. Good luck to the kid. Kind of refreshing to see two things - one that our state is starting to produce some Div. 1 prospects, and two - kind of unusual but nice to see Doc get a recruit without a criminal background for a change.

It doesn't even matter at the end of the day. Doc will reel in a hand full of normal, smart kids that haven't been in trouble with the law, and the rest of them will be thugs that either nobody else wanted to take a chance on, or they weren't good enough to play at their current team. I keep reading how the Herd will be good because they have a few studs that transferred in from P5 programs. Who the hell is dumb enough to believe all of that? Anybody think these transfers would rather play in CUSA as opposed to the programs they originally committed to play for? There's reasons why they transferred out. Either weren't good enough to begin with, or were too damn stupid to stay eligible. Unfortunately, that's the way it is when you're a mid major program. Of course, some mid majors have more pride, and won't go pounding the can against the jail cell bars.

He was offered at fullback . Offer was on table and he didn't take it . He wanted to play lb and camped last week . He didn't perform well at camp and we took the offer off the table . That's why he committed quickly to Marshall because he did not want to lose his only other offer . That's the truth of the situation . They haven't released the name yet. Probably the most punishment he will receive is staying in the locker room until the National Anthem has been played in their "playoff game" against Miami of Ohio.
Why should they be punished, while not knowing what actually took place? What if, he happened to be walking down the sidewalk like a fine, outstanding citizen, and was mugged and shot by a thug? Should he be kicked off the team, or 'punished' due to no fault of his own?
