Looks like Deforest and Codgell gone!!

Since 1993, huh?
The site went live when my dad's company gave their employees a small page for each of them to use for whatever they wanted. I used it for what I called the WVU Sports Page. Not long after that I was with CityNet that most of you are familiar with and they still handle WVU's official site. I got way too big for them and many other providers over the next seven years until moving to Rivals. The hardest part for me was always having a message board that would shut down most servers so I would get kicked from one host and then have to move to another in a matter of hours. I even tried having servers in my house but it was a nightmare.

Of course all of this came after running the Prodigy and AOL WVU pages in the late 80s. Basically all I did was update scores, put up stats and monitor the chat rooms.

I guess I came in on it later than I thought. I started checking the regularly and reading the message board around 1995, I think. You've really built something to be proud of.

You have built a great thing Vernon. I liked and enjoyed the premium content when i had membership. Once I'm in a better financial position ill sign up again.

Well, the haters will have to find a new target with DeForest gone.

I'm glad he is gone. He did a terrible job as defensive coordinator, then was paid too much at 700K for special teams coach, but I give him credit for the FG and punting situation being excellent for the Mountaineers.

Damon did a lot of good for WVU by feeding all that talent from Miramar to WVU, but sometimes superstars in one area just don't hack it in a different area.

My only concern is that WVU improve on the 8-5 record, which was a welcome improvement over the 7-6 seasons. Adding one more victory to 8 is a lot tougher than adding one more victory to a 4-8 season.

Let's hope that Huggins will inspire the football coaches and players do go and do likewise. On to the Final Four! Starting with a victory Tuesday over Kansas, followed by success against Oklahoma. That would elevate WVU to #1.

Wouldn't that be sweet?
