playing a Big 12 schedule.. Could you imagine the yardage these Big 12 QB's would put up on that dismal defensive backfield.. They played Ok.St and allowed 600 plus passing yards, I could see Mayfield, Mahomes Stindham etc passing for 800 plus against those scrubs? Delusional bunch of fans for sure..

You know .... Pitt has actually beaten two Top Ten teams. One of them was #2 and Pitt beat them in their own house.

I have no idea how Pitt would do in the Big12. But this is not the time to be picking on Pitt.

They also lost to Miami (6-4) by 23 points.

There is a website called Whatifsports.com where you can plug in teams and plays the game. So I plugged in WVU's schedule against Pitt where they had the home schedule we had. Pitt went 6-6 against our schedule, including losses to TCU, UT and ISU.

YSU didn't show up on the list so I subbed Akron; which Pitt defeated. I used a balanced offense for both teams, home or neutral field and left weather conditions neutral.

Pitt would would finish 4th to 7th in Big 12 depending on their result against KSU, TCU, Baylor.

The Texas Tech game is no guarantee.

Pitt is too inconsistent to be a challenger in the Big 12.

And we lost to Kansas a few years back when they had not won a conference game in years. Your point? Now is not the time to pick on Pitt.

Also, Miami is a tough team, has an excellent coach, and a future NFL QB.

Wtf does our loss to Kansas have to do with the price of tea in China?

Miami a tough team? LOL! They've lost to UNC, VT and ND. They might have a good coach but it's his first year there.

Pitt just didn't lose to Miami, like I said, they lost by 23 points.

We have Pitt up there next year. At this point, it appears all our good skill guys who could leave are back (Rudolph, Washington). I like our chances...we'll see how it goes.

...awhile back, somebody on here floated the idea of Mountaineer fan showing up en masse' and make it a BXII takeover supporting you guys...I, personally, really liked the idea....truth be told, we dis-like, but respect you guys....not TT....those people are assholes....

Did you see the Game? Basically even after first half. Second half turnovers led to bloated score. A little like the WVU/Oak St game. Just sayin.

Pitt has what wvu hasn't at this point a signature win. If we had wins against Clemson or Penn state it would look a whole lot better in the eyes of the committee.

Hard to say but Pitt can compete with the best teams in NCAA college football and lose to others.

CFP football rankings:

Pitt defeated #4 Ranked Clemson and #8 Ranked Penn State.

As far as common opponents, Pitt and WVU both lost to #11 Ranked Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State 37 West Virginia 20
Oklahoma State 45 Pittsburgh 38

Miami game aside, Pitt lost their other 3 games by a combined total of just 11 points.

One thing for certain is that Pitt now has a good HC (2nd year) going forward.

See you guys in a couple of years.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

They would probably fare better but teams with no defense have to have a ridiculous offense to win 10 games against most schedules so I dont think they would fare as well as they think.

At this point, I would like to see Pitt finish at 8-4, win our Bowl game and Ranked in the Top 25.

See how it goes.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

I don't really give a damn about Pitt or who they play. Any attempt to say Pitt would do this or that against a Big XII 12 schedule is subjective at best.

Great for you Pitt fans your team beat a couple ranked opponents. Does not change that fact that IMO you can all go to hell.

Subjective at best. Anyone can say that, but it doesn't mean it's necessarily true.

And as always - Eat sh*t Pitt.

Stidham doesn't even play in the Big 12.

You all waiting to see your coach leave again?

Thank you for being the voice of reason. Granted, Pitt is in need of more talent in the defensive backfield, but giving up yards doesn't always spell losses. See Mich St. vs Baylor in bowl game two years ago.

Yes and it shows us beating the 2015 Alabama team 27-21 so I will not use this sight again because there is no way that would ever happen

We beat 2 teams currently ranked in the Top 8. We had the ball at midfield with 5:00 left in a tie game at Stillwater, needing only 20 more yards for a game-winning FG but managed to lose that one.

North Carolina, VT, and Miami are better than you think. Yes, Pitt "could" go 10-2 or 11-1 vs WVU's schedule. We also could go 8-4 or 7-5 like we are doing now. We "should" be 11-1 right now playing for the CFP on Dec 3 but not finishing the game vs OKST, blowing about 6 game-ending chances vs UNC and not getting a 3rd down stop vs VT (would have gotten ball back around 40 with 1:30).

You could also look at it as you "should" be 3-8 as four of your wins could have just as easily been losses.

It's possible. They played OK ST a lot tougher than we did.

The Big 12 is not good this year.
Not sure how one determines strength of conference, Big 12 certainly not viewed nationally as a strong conference the last several years. Bowl record 8-12 last 2 years ranks near the bottom if not the bottom of the 5 major conferences.

"Should be 11-1 and playing for cfp". Bwahhaaa...perhaps if you hadn't lost 4 games. Sounds like a Marshall fan. Ya can't make this stuff up. I'm sure there's a 5 loss team out there with a compelling story.
