I live a solid 2 1/2 hours away from Morgantown but was looking for an opportunity to take the family to a basketball game between now and New Years and we are only playing 2 Saturday home games between now and the conference home opener against TCU on Jan 7th. And even the Charleston game is slated for a midweek school night. There are always complaints about fan support for the non-conference slate but it would be nice if things could be scheduled a little more family friendly so working folks with kids could make the games.

You can't worry about fans who commute 2+ hours for your games in basketball.............. it's about the local market and the TV money.

Even on weekends, fans who are that far away aren't going to drive 4+ hours round trip for a 2 hour game against a team they likely never heard of before.

Thats fine if its all about tv but I hate hearing the complaints about the half empty arenas when the scheduling is put together like it is. For whatever reason, North Central WV does fill the stands like it should for either basketball or football. It takes the fans coming out of Charleston and Beckley and points further south to do it for football and basketball at times and its next to impossible to haul the family to Morgantown and get to work/school on the other days of the week.

I can't say with any certainty, but with the upgrades going on in the coliseum this summer, maybe Huggs was hesitant to schedule early home games, or maybe he was told by the contractors that the work would stretch into the season.

For some people like Hurdy, butthurt is a terminal diagnosis....

DIng! Ding!

And there it is .... the response I knew I could solicit.

All I have to do act like I'm dissing Huggs and KC starts salivating like a dog who heard Dr. Pavlov's bell ring.

I actually thought you were going to ignore me Keaton. I almost posted a congratulatory comment on your self-restraint. But I held off. Wasn't it obvious that I saw your name in the thread and I simply threw out a chunk of meat to see if you would bite?

But no .... you are the dog to my Dr. Pavlov.

For those unfamiliar with Dr. Pavlov

The truth is that my criticisms of Huggs over the last couple of years have drastically decreased because his program has been much less of a soap opera than it was a few years ago.

May the stability continue ......I'm looking forward to a good season and a team that washes out the taste left in our mouths after a classic NCAA crash.

Oh yeah .... one more thing ...... Ding! Ding!

that moment when your butthurt's only "cure" is to celebrate reactions from complete strangers over the internet....
