You know what you'd like to do...you'd like to say "You're fired!" and get a great coach in here to take us back to where we once were or even better.
The conundrum though is you need to come up with enough money to put down on Brown's buyout (we don't need it all upfront) AND hire a good coach with enough money for quality assistants.
Right now, we don't appear to have the money to do all of that.
So, do you can him now and gamble on the money coming in?
The thing is of course, we are not progressing and the empty stands and MAC donations will start to show that soon enough.
Wren knows this. He's a smart guy. I'm glad we have him.
I'm sure he's on the phone talking to every big donor he can trying to get the funds together to have options. Right now, I think his only financially feasible option is to wait until 2025 and take a gamble on a higher profile coordinator with enough money to get a good staff around him.
Hopefully, some deep pockets will step up to give him a better option and he can get rid of Brown sooner, but I am not going to fault him if he cannot. This crap sandwich wasn't his making.
