Horrible AD. Bad hires at Pitt and at Arkansas.
Was fired at Arkansas for his horrible football hire.
If Les Miles is given complete control over the football program I feel for KU fans.
High hopes that won't be rewarded.
Someone needs to make sure he doesn't bring his right hand man Cam Cameron.
Kansas needs an OC that can develop a QB. Miles could not develop a QB at LSU and in the Big XII like the NFL you win and lose with QB play.

Best thing about Kansas is their JUCO system is one of the best in the country.
KU doesn't have to go far to pick up 5 good JUCO kids a year.

You may lose a player every once in awhile in BR but 9 out of 10 BR players will play at LSU.
Truth is Les Miles gave up Monroe to Bama.
So his recruiting territory actually became smaller.
Doubt DH would be interested in that job.

Schools with openings are not known to open up the bank for coaches.
If Dana is trying to use Colorado to get more money out of WV bless his heart.
The CU boosters have never thrown money into their football program nor do they get the revenue from the Pac 12.
If I was WV I would play hardball with him because I doubt the other schools will open up the checkbook this off season.

Hired Wannsted, not a bad hire at all, gave Dixon his first nice raise when he was doing well

He forgets to mention that he will never have that kind of talent in Lawrence.

As a casual fan, I never understood why LSU wanted so badly to remove a HC with a national championship under his belt? Must have been some major personality conflicts within the athletic department.
Most felt his program would start to decline and that he was winning on talent alone. I'm not convinced he's a great coach but it's tough to argue with his success.

Being able to consistently coach at or above your talent level does and Les

He left 2-3 NC on the table for LSU
He was ultimately fired because of loyalty.

But he had already worn out his welcome in BR.
Well they botched the hire. Firing Miles to hire an assistant like Orgeron when the goal is to compete with Saban, is flat dumb.
Before that season started if you asked to see a the AD's list of potential replacements, Orgeron wouldnt have been in the top 20.
You are talking about maybe the best recruiter at the head coach position in the country.

Thing with Jimbo Fisher is that he had everything in the world at Florida State.

Nevin Shapiro had Miami boosters keeping their wallets in their pockets.
A few schools believed Jimbo was an elite coach but by 2016 the shine of Jimbo went away.
Mark Richt out recruited Jimbo at the end.
Jimbo jumped but when he did he made sure he got a 75 million dollar buyout.
No one in BR would rather have Jimbo right now.

Jimbo can get be given credit for Winston but if you look at his record with Winston compared to without Winston you see who deserves credit for the NC.
Jimbo never had FSU in the NC talk without Winston.

So Jimbo is losing on average 3 games a year against teams with lesser talent.
In the SEC he will be playing teams with rosters comparable to his almost every week.
So why would LSU want another coach who at his best will be 9-3...

Orgeron was not a candidate. He was an emergency fall back plan who was offered the job after the administration botched both the termination and new hire.
It doesnt really matter who they get, until Saban retires they are road meat and playing for 2nd place in the West.

LSU went after Tom Herman. There was even a report on the Monday after Thanksgiving that year that Herman agreed to a contract with LSU.
Herman was desired because of what he did against Alabama while OC at Ohio St.
LSU pulled out when it became known that Texas would be willing to have a spending war.
Ultimately Herman and his agent were trying to get LSU, Texas and even A&M to go after them.

As soon as Herman was announced to be head coach at Texas LSU took the interim name off of Orgeron.
Only time Jimbo was a legit candidate for the LSU job was when Saban jumped to the NFL.
Jimbo was the OC at the time.
Missed big time.....couldnt get the hire right and settled on Orgeron. There were lots of reports about Jimbo and LSU in 2016, just google it - lots, even saying Jimbo was there too target.

I agree LSU is getting a good value with Orgeron. No one wants to be a sacrificial lamb for Alabama....probably wont get better when Saban retires and Dabo keeps them rolling.
The Jimbo deal from the Aggies was criminal. No public institutions should pay that for a coach.
Alabama will eventually eat itself.
No program can sustain playing at an elite level forever.
Especially because of the Red Elephant Club.
Saban kept them in check but they almost freaked out when Saban was talking about starting Hurts.

If you really believe Ed Orgeron is a better HC than Jimbo Fisher, well there's not a lot I can say. It's like arguing grass isn't really green.
Orgeron is 30-10 in his last 4 years of coaching including two interim stops.
Jimbo is 31-16 in his last 4 years of coaching
There is not that much of a difference.
Plus Jimbo was coaching in the ACC against Wake, Syracuse and Georgia Tech.

I think all game plans rely on the defense preventing the opponents offense from scoring.
