I hope all the regulars on this board have a very enjoyable weekend. Even the Herdiots. Watch some football, fire up the grill, enjoy some time with family........and we can start fighting again Tuesday. Until then, old buzzard is out of here.

I thought I was in pretty good shape, until I went on a hike last year. Hiked up to Seneca rocks, which really isn't that long of a hike. Much to my surprise, going up was the easy part. Coming down was a bitch, as my knees felt like they were on the verge of complete shut down.Working on my western legs for my up coming elk hunts. Hiking 12.5 miles with an elevation gain of 2000 feet Saturday. Sunday brewing a beer for my administrator's wedding. Monday a quick 5.4 mile hike on the AT with a 1500 foot gain. Going to carb load tonight with some locally made liquid bread.
We have been doing all these tough hikes (2700 climb last weekend) that we typically don't notice how steep it is till we are going down hill. The down hill is tough on your joints. I am going to try and do a 14er out west prior to my first hunt. I will only have 3 days to get use to the low o2. We have been doing the 6000 foot peaks here in NC so that helps a little.I thought I was in pretty good shape, until I went on a hike last year. I'am sure you will be here too.I mean this is you life.Going to go out of town and visit with family for part of the weekend. I truly enjoyed last night's game of Appy State vs Tennessee. Hopefully there are more games like that this weekend.
WV(u) always starts off strong, so I'd say you guys will be pleased with your game this weekend, even though I don't agree with Michigan's score prediction. I'm sure you will all be here to gloat about it :cool2:
I'm not familiar with all your terminology in regards to the hikes, but if you want to go on a hell of a hike, let me know next time you're in Michigan and we can do a brewpub trail, guaranteed to whip your ass by the 7th or 8th leg/stop.We have been doing all these tough hikes (2700 climb last weekend) that we typically don't notice how steep it is till we are going down hill.
