KIng: What the hell was up with all the false starts in the Red zone? I came away thinking

This is partly true, but State Penn surprisingly won the battle upfront with both of its lines. In addition to Ohio State's woeful performance in the Red Zone, you were screwed by the fact that Sean Clifford was healthy for the first time in several weeks, and Ohio State waited too long to blitz him. It was clear early on that Ohio State's D-Line wasn't getting any pressure on Clifford, but as soon as the Bucks blitzed him, he struggled. Ohio State waited too long to send a linebacker and/or defensive back on a blitz, but when it finally did so, Clifford made some mistakes. The Buckeyes could lose any of their four remaining games, which would end their Playoff hopes.

We have previously discussed the OSU "D" is the weak point in the team and they did not cover themselves in glory Saturday night but the offensive self induced mistakes in the Red Zone really was the culprit in the non cover. But as you say maybe have to give a tip of the cap to PSU. On to reeling Scott Frost and Nebraska.
