Talked to a buddy who is very close to the Maryland program. He said Locksley recruited Deon Long while at Illinois and then coached him at Maryland. Said Locksley thought that Simms and Long had an identical game at the same juncture of their careers. Simms may even be a tad faster.
Needless to say huge loss for the Terps and Edsall is again having trouble keepin not only elite, but upper mid level talent in state.
I like the way he blocks downfield also. Very reminiscent of Studman.
