Almost everybody on the defense is inexperienced. All of the linebackers who regularly played last season are gone. The corners and safeties are new, and partly because of injuries, most of the D-Line rotation that played Saturday was new, too. The Defensive Coordinator is no longer calling plays, so I think that Day is experimenting and searching for answers at this this point. Given that Tulsa has played Power 5 schools tough the last couple of years and is experienced, a 21-point win in which a true freshman shredded the record book isn't all bad.

I've only seen the last series of the WVU game. You're damn lucky that P.I. wasn't called on the last play, as the DB had a fist full of the cHokies' WR's jersey, not that the cHokies deserved to win that game. Moreover, as the color guy said, Va. Tech's QB could have walked into the End Zone on first and goal from the four yard line. You may be catching chOkelahoma at the right time, as Boomer Sooner has really struggled against Tulane and the B1G's West Division doormat.

That's the other thing about the WVU game that was weird to me during Tech's last possession. I may be totally wrong in regard to their intentions, but it really looked as though they didn't want to score on that 1st down play, or the 2nd down play for that matter. Seemed they too were attempting to make sure WVU would have very little time left, if by chance they were able to score on 3rd or 4th down. I was going back & forth between about six different noon games, so didn't watch much of the WVU game (since it was out of hand throughout most), but dialed back in right before Tech cut it to 27-21.

I was in Cincinnati watching the scuffling Reds on Friday night and Saturday, then at Octoberfest on Saturday night, so I didn't see any CFB games live. Va. Tech's last series must have occurred at just after 3:30 p.m., as my recording of Ohio State's game picked it up. It was hard to tell which debacle was worse: the cHokies' play-calling or their execution. They deserve to be unranked now.

Oklahoma is favored by 18.....I don't think that's enough

that's what I think too....I believe the chokies thought they had a sure score and wanted to drain clock....luck and the WV defense spoiled the plan

I watched a little of that game as well (another noon start), and Oklahoma just doesn't look very good right now. Maybe they're simply playing to the level of their competition the last couple of weeks, but Nebraska isn't a very good football team, and they somewhat hung with Oklahoma.

there were cheap shots on both sides all day...one thing I noticed in particular was holding on the chokies...one of the o line had his jersey ripped on one that wasnt called

the only chance of keeping it closer than 18 is if they find a way to get Greene involved either alone or in the backfield with Doege.....if WV plays their normal offense then katy bar the door. IMHO WV needs to empty the playbook and go crazy....what do they have to lose?

Is Greene the little guy they bring in at QB once in a while? Saw some really small guy that ran the ball from the Wildcat position. Looked small on TV, but sure he's bigger than he appears amongst all the linemen.
