Kansas hasn’t had a winning football season since 2008 (at 8-5), but was 12-1 & #7 nationally and Big 12 co-champs in 2007 under Mark Mangino.

In 2007, Kansas began 5-0 and lost the next 7 games. Sounds like WVU with Geno in 2012, with the 5-0 start, then 5-game losing streak in a 7-6 season.

Kansas has lost 42 road games in a row, but WVU plays AT Kansas.

WVU has beaten Kansas 5 of 6 meetings.

Kansas beat WVU, 31-19, in 2013. That was the year that the Mountaineers lost the final three games, to Texas in overtime, Kansas and Iowa State. That may be the only time that a Big 12 school lost back-to-back to Kansas and Iowa State, the twin doormats of the Big 12. It was Holgorsen’s worst season (4-8).

To quote Hillary Rodham Clinton: What happened?

Some people never learn. They figure, "It can't get any worse." And it does, with disastrous consequences.
If Dana comes close to his 10-3 season of 2016, and wins a bowl game or, Gloria Allelujah, a Big 12 title and national playoff appearance, then WVU is set for a good run. 4-8 seems farther and farther away.
