This is the results of decades of conditioning the American people. Each generation has become increasingly reliant on the government to fix things. The majority of Americans prior to FDR were a lot more self sufficient. They weren’t slaves to federal income taxation and corporate America. They owned their own land and farmed it. With each generation we’ve lost valuable self reliant skills of fixing things. It’s now to the point we’ve got people that can’t change a tire, fix a sink leak, change their own oil, etc. How many people now can garden? Like you, I’ve lost faith in the average American. Expecting them to use Critical thinking to vote may be too much to expect.
