I just got off the phone with Northeast Community College assistant coach Zach Towle. He's an assistant at the junior college where Buay Tuach plays. I'll have more in an article, but got a really good scouting report from Towle on Tuach. During the season, Tuach had 58 steals so Towle feels that he can step in right away to fit into what West Virginia does with its press defense. Towle believes that's one of the top reasons as to why West Virginia is recruiting Tuach so hard. Towle says Tuach can guard against the one, two or three spots on the floor. Offensively, Towle said when former VCU coach (now Texas coach) Shaka Smart spoke with the Northeast CC coaching staff, Smart compared Tuach to Buddy Hield. During the season Tuach shot more than 40-percent from three with over 100 three-point attempts.
To this point Tuach has offers from WVU, VCU, Middle Tennessee State, St. Bonaventure & Loyola Marymount. Washington is also heavily interested and will visit Northeast next week to see Tuach. Obviously, Tuach will visit WVU this weekend and has also scheduled a visit to VCU for the next weekend. Texas is involved, but Smart has backed off a little bit. Towle told me he thinks Smart wants to get everything settled at Texas before he starts trying to recruit players.
Like I said, I'll have plenty more in an article this week.
