Just finished up speaking with Lakewood (Oh.) St. Edward defensive back Tony Butler and he told me that West Virginia has been a program that he has long been interested in since he watched Pat White and Steve Slaton as a kid. The Mountaineers have yet to offer him a scholarship yet but that's why he plans to visit July 31 because he strongly believes that he will be getting one on that trip and if he does expect West Virginia to vault in his top group that includes Michigan, Clemson, Arizona State and Rutgers, all of which have offered. Butler was committed to Pittsburgh but backed off that pledge in large part because he thought he committed too early but this time he plans to take his time and make sure he is making the right decision before he announces a commitment. The trip to West Virginia will be the last trip he makes this summer but he told me he plans on making several official visits in the fall.
