Panama City Beach (Fla.) Arnold quarterback Cody Saunders told me that even though he had never talked to West Virginia prior to today, the Mountaineers are the clear cut favorites in his recruitment right now and he told me that he plans to talk with his parents over the next couple days about the possibility of maybe even pulling the trigger. Saunders has five offers and had been talking with Kentucky but the Wildcats received a commitment from another signal caller so at first he was a little disappointed but this offer from West Virginia has him very excited. He is familiar with the history of quarterbacks in the scheme and told me today that the coaches spoke with him about the offense and how he could fit into the scheme. Running backs coach JaJuan Seider is expected to go down and visit him next Thursday to watch him throw during the evaluation period. He actually moved to Florida from Virginia because his dad is in the military and told me that he isn't opposed to moving anywhere when it comes to playing college football. He is very athletic and actually plays some safety for his high school team but completed over 60 percent of his passes and threw 15 touchdown passes. He told me he plans to visit West Virginia as soon as possible but could end his recruitment even before then.
