Just got my Purdue tickets....be there with 35,000

How many cans of soup did you donate?
Not sure what you boys use for currency up there but down here we use U.S. dollars...you can come to the game too but you'll need $40.00 in greenbacks...no 'shine or soup accepted down here!

I guess you don't recall the promotion where you could get greenie tickets for donating soup. Or refuse to acknowledge it for the purposes of this discussion.

A whole $40 for a ticket? Whew, don't know if I could swing that.

I can't find one, I may have to retract that statement. I might be confusing/combining different events in which food was collected at football games but then also canned food got you into a soccer match.

I prefer to stick with facts for my smack, so if I'm wrong then I must retract and apologize.

That's right up there with Bob wearing the Chickensuit....never happened.

You mean a cream puff team with more 1AA National Titles than you? To hear you guys talk you should hold them in reverence
Oh! You thought I was implying you guys were opening up with a cream puff. No, no, not at all. You guys will have your hands full. lol

Well, one dog is a 20 point favorite over the other dog. Sounds like one of Mike Tyson's early fights.

I'd be alarmed you are only a 7 1/2 point favorite, AT HOME, versus one of the worst P5 teams of the last several years. Imagine if you were @ Purdue? What, 3.5 favorite against that mighty foe? LOL... Lose that one, and it'll be a LONGGGGGG year.....maybe. Looking at the rest of your schedule, maybe not. Mission accomplished, Marshall!

PU returns 15 starters and has an experience QB at the helm...if the Boilers are going to turn it around 2015 would seem to be that year!

Hahaha! Keep saying it until you believe it! Btw. Good to see you back Tony.

7. Purdue
2014 Record:
3-9 (1-7)

purdue-boilermakers.png
The Boilermakers made slight progress in coach Darrell Hazell’s second year. Purdue’s win total improved by two games, which included a Big Ten victory over Illinois. Of the Boilermakers seven losses in conference play, only two came by a touchdown or less. Needless to say, this team has a ways to go before it can contend for a winning season. The first priority for Hazell is settling on a quarterback. Will Austin Appleby remain the starter over Danny Etling? Or will redshirt freshman David Blough make a push for the No. 1 spot? The team’s top rushers (Akeem Hunt and Raheem Mostert) depart, leaving Keyante Green (199 yards in 2014) as the top option at running back. The defense limited Big Ten opponents to 5.7 yards per play last season, which was an improvement from giving up 6.5 yards per play in 2013. However, this unit still has room to grow, and most of the core returns for 2015. Safety Frankie Williams should be in contention for All-Big Ten honors, and the linebacking corps features promising sophomores in Ja’Whaun Bentley and Danny Ezechukwu. - See more at: http://athlonsports.com/college-foo...ootball-predictions-2015#sthash.tENyP4lA.dpuf

Why is ANYONE surprised? This falls right into the Marshall Doctrine:

"Beat crappy teams and beat your chest like you've accomplished something."

Can't dispute that Boilers struggled in 2014....but this is a different year, I suspect they'll either turn the corner or be looking for a new coach in 2015.

If Purdue doesn't have a pretty good season, I'd have to say it's their coaches' fault.

I just looked at the ticket availability chart for Marshall's opener against Purdue and the availability chart for WVU's opener against Georgia Southern. Huge difference! LOL!

Very huge difference ... Looks like Tony will have plenty of room to spread out.

other Herd fans watching MU expose this so called P-5 nonsense!
Where are the other 34999 fans coming from? you couldn't draw 35000 if you paid them $25.00 per hour. They would show up for the paycheck but no-show for the work detail !

You look pretty lame boasting about drawing 35,000 to your little stadium in Huntington........if only 35,000 showed up for a Mountaineer game we'd be wondering what's wrong.

Guess "taking over the state" and being the "flagship" aren't working out too well, for Marshall...
