600 jurors for WVU-Radio Corp. trial
MORGANTOWN - A pool of 600 potential jurors is expected to be pulled for the WVU-West Virginia Radio Corp. trial.
The media rights and procurement trial is set to begin in late June.
In 2013, West Virginia Radio Corp., filed a lawsuit against WVU, the WVU Foundation and several individual defendants. The lawsuit made several allegations, including violations of procurement rules for the awarding of the university Tier 3 media rights to IMG College, and the purchase of scoreboards for Milan Puskar Stadium and the Coliseum.
An investigation by West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey found WVU had not followed its own procedures when it initially awarded the rights but committed no intentional wrongdoing. The contract was rebid and again awarded to IMG.
The initial complaint in the Radio Corp.-WVU lawsuit stated, among other things, that some or all of the defendants are guilty of fraud, conspiracy, breach of fiduciary duty and violation of the Solicitation of Charitable Funds Act
