7. I think Joe DeForest is doing a fantastic job this year.

To call last year's punt return woes a debacle is unfair to the definition of debacle. Players routinely caught balls they should have let go over their heads, didn't catch balls they should have and muffed way too many punts. Not only that but the coverage units were not good. This year, however, we have not given up a special teams touchdown despite playing: William Likely (UMD), Jakeem Grant (TTU), KaVontae Turpin (TCU), and Derek Keaton(GSU) all of whom rank in the top 20 nationaly in kick return yards.

Nick O'Toole ranks 19th nationally in yards per punt at 44.7. He has shanked a few punts recently but he has also shown the "boomstache" again this year with many punts flipping the field and giving our opponents a long field to have to drive after a defensive stop. As Al Pacino said in Any Given Sunday, its a game of inches and every inch matters.

The people wearing the aluminum foil hats are the ones incessantly complaining about coaching salaries on a free sports message board. Maybe you should try making your hat into a football helmet which will come as no surprise to anyone that it will be as close as you have ever gotten to wearing a real one.

Those that know the least complain the most.

I've had plenty of issues with him, but if you can't admit he's doing a pretty darn good job this year, you'be definitely got a agenda!!

Coach's personal defenders are funny people. When coverage and returns struggled, people attempting to defend DeForest argued other coaches had primary responsibility for those units and Joe was more just involved directly with the kicking specialists.

When the kicking specialists regress and the coverage and return units clean up glaring flaws and become decent (just decent, nothing special in any way), Joe gets the credit for the improvement and a pass on the kickers struggling.

Funny how that works ain't it? The coach haters spin stuff also, weird huh? But in all honesty, you can't see the improvement we've made? I'm not even sure what he even coaches, so I honestly don't know if it's him, but someone is doing a better job!!

What have I spun?

I don't hate Dana. He seems like a good enough guy. I just think he is several feet over his head as coach at this level and I have provided MANY FACTS s to illustrate how poorly we have performed with him as our coach, consistently, over a long period of time, against all levels of competition except the very very worst, and how all people offer in defense are falsehoods, excuses and unsupported assertions that something never specificaslly identified and invisible to the naked eye or demonstrable with facts, is "improving."

I wish Dana well in his next endeavor. I just hope he begins it sooner rather than later. He might make some good head coach a solid assistant as long as he is closely supervised.

Not saying you spin, just saying both sides do quite a bit of spinning!! I'm on neither side, I just want to win!! I just think credit should be given for our improvement on ST!!

Truth is.....................Special Teams is where the low hanging fruit was most apparent. Think! Now, let's go WIN. Losing is for folks who ain't got no money. Me? I got lots of problems but money ain't one of them.

109,830 postings - LMAO and I can only imagine what the total is with your aliases. I heard that HerdNation.com got tired of you and Hank dumbing down their board (seems to be a pattern). Where to next - the VT message board?
